Gillette defenseman Leberknight makes college commitment

The Gillette Wild, proud members of the NA3HL, are excited to announce that defenseman Tristen Leberknight (6’0/185) has committed to the University of Utah, an ACHA Division I hockey program. Leberknight is the second Gillette Wild player to commit to the University of Utah following the 2015-16 season.
Leberknight, 20, from Rapid City, South Dakota, has played two years in the NA3HL with the Gillette Wild, tallying 16 points (4 goals and 12 assists) in 77 games. He also played three games with the Frontier Division team in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament.
The University of Utah has won three Wasatch Cup titles in the five years they have been in the PAC-8. In the 2015-16 season, the Utes finished second in the ACHA ranking, and won their second consecutive title. In the 2016-17 season, the Utes will become an ACHA Division I hockey team.
