November 28, 2016
The Pittsburgh Vengeance of the NA3HL are proud to announce that goalie Joel De Simone has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL’s East Division.
De Simone, 18, who is a native of Noville, Switzerland, is 8-2 on the season for Pittsburgh with a 2.00 goals against average and .935 save percentage.
De Simone (6’1/175) started the season with the Aston Rebels where he went 1-0 with a goals against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .929.
"Joel is a talented kid that works very hard at his craft and as an organization we are very proud of him," said Pittsburgh Head Coach David Dorsey.
He is the first Vengeance player to be tendered this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2017.
