December 27, 2016
The Binghamton Junior Senators of the NA3HL are proud to announce that forward Ryan Reifler has signed a North American Hockey League Tender Agreement with the Aberdeen Wings. The Wings are part of the NAHL Central Division.
Reifler, 17, is having a successful first year of junior hockey with the Junior Senators, and currently ranks fifth in team scoring and seventh in league scoring with 63 points in 30 games (18 goals, 45 assists). Ryan also leads all NA3HL rookies in plus/minus with a plus 52 rating.
"Ryan is an integral part of our team, and has been a significant contributor to our success," said Assistant Coach Nick Perri. "Clearly, his talent has been noted and we are extremely proud of him for his achievements."
Ryan becomes the first player in Binghamton Junior Senators history to be offered and signed to an NAHL Tender Agreement.
"For Ryan, the real work starts now," Perri added. "Ryan is a determined young player, and we are confident that he is prepared to do what it takes to become successful at the next level."
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 6, 2017.
