Missoula defenseman Mathews gets call to the NAHL

January 24, 2017
The Missoula Jr. Bruins of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Wyatt Mathews has been called up to the North American Hockey League (NAHL) to play for the Wichita Falls Wildcats.

Mathews, 19, made his NAHL debut in Wichita Falls 5-3 loss to the Lone Star Brahmas on Saturday.

A native of Bonner, Montana, Mathews (6’0/185) has made a huge impact for the first year Jr. Bruins who currently sit in fourth place of the NA3HL’s Frontier Division.

He collected 32 points (7 Goals, 25 Assists) in 32 games at the time of his call up, placing him in 7th place among NA3HL defenders.

"Wyatt has definitely earned this opportunity for himself. He has been a leader for us both on and off the ice and we are excited for him to show what he can do at the next level,” said Marcus Baxter, head coach and general manager of the Jr. Bruins.
