Jets, WarHawks win on Wednesday

Dylan Gast scored in regulation and again in the shootout to help Willmar pick up a win on Wednesday.
Metro Jets 3 vs. Toledo Cherokee 0-A pair of first period goals helped the Metro Jets to a 3-0 victory over the Toledo Cherokee. Hayden Winch, Chas Distelrath, and Louis Boudon each notched goals for the Jets, and Andrew Kormos stopped all 15 shots he faced. For Toledo, Roman Malkov and Adrian Morales made 36 and 4 stops, respectively. Boxscore
Willmar War Hawks 3 vs. New Ulm Steel 2 (SO)-A late third period goal from Willmar War Hawk Dylan Gast forced an overtime, and eventually a shootout, where Gast scored again, giving them the 3-2 SO victory. Jordan Cooper also scored for the War Hawks, and Sam Wenner and Jacob Padley netted goals for the Steel. In net, Alex Cathcart made 44 saves for Willmar, and Nathan Siclovan stopped 33 shots for the Steel. Boxscore
