Cape Cod goalie Zemba makes NCAA commitment

The Cape Cod Islanders of the NA3HL are proud to announce that goaltender Anton Zemba has committed to play NCAA hockey at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. Lawrence University is an NCAA Division III school who are members of the North Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA).
Zemba, 20, is in his second year with the Islanders. So far this year he has posted a 15-5-0-2 record with a 3.09 goals against average and a 91.9% save percentage. Zemba was scouted by Lawrence at the NA3HL Showcase in Blaine Minnesota this past December.
The 5’11/175 lbs. native of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, played last season with the Islanders in the NA3EHL, which also including playing on the NA3EHL Prospects Team that took part in the 2015 NA3HL Showcase.
“We are very excited to welcome Anton to our program and Lawrence University. His compete level and athleticism will be a great compliment to our team,” said Lawrence Head Coach Mike Szkodzinski. “Anton is a very mature and driven young man and we are confident that he will be an excellent addition to our locker room and university.”
Zemba is very happy to have the opportunity to play NCAA college hockey. “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of Lawrence University. When I visited, I felt an immediate connection to the school,” said Zemba.
“I am thrilled to have the chance to attend at a university that will challenge me both academically and athletically. Playing NCAA hockey has been a goal of mine for a long time and I am incredibly grateful to coach Szodzinski for giving me this opportunity. I’d like to thank the Islanders organization for providing me a platform to be scouted by Lawrence University. I’d especially like to thank my parents for their support and guidance throughout the years.”
