Saturday Scores: Lumberjacks cruise to West Finals

Mac Berglove posted shutouts in Game 1 and Game 2 to lead Granite City to a sweep and a spot in the West Finals.

West Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Granite City Lumberjacks 5 vs. Breezy Point North Stars 0 (Granite City wins series, 2-0) - Granite City Lumberjack Mac Berglove made 23 saves for a 5-0 shutout win over the Breezy Point North Stars. Eric Moser, Brady Dahl (2), Brandon Bissett, and Matthew Sprink scored for the Lumberjacks. Breezy Point's Magnus Lindhe made 42 saves. With the win, the Granite City Lumberjacks will advance to the Division Finals, sweeping the Breezy Point North Stars. 

Coastal Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Cape Cod Islanders 3 vs. New England Stars 2 (OT) (Series tied 1-1) - Two unanswered goals for the Cape Cod Islanders pushed them to a 3-2 OT win over the New England Stars, tying the series at one. Thomas Tobey, Cameron Tobey, and Mitchell Eldridge scored for the Islanders, and Michael Lempiainen and Cole Archambeault scored for the Stars. In net, Cape Cod's Anton Zemba made 47 saves, while Dom Lamanno stopped 34 shots for New England. This Coastal Division matchup is tied at one game a piece. 

South Division Semi-Final, Game 1: Texas Jr Brahmas 3 vs. Point Mallard Ducks 2 (2OT) (Texas leads best of 3 series, 1-1) - Texas Jr Brahma Andrew Garcia scored with a minute remaining in double overtime to give them the 3-2 OT2 victory over the Point Mallard Ducks. Bennett Weycker and Kyle Torgerson scored for Texas in regulation, and Jake Cox and John Meakins notched goals for the Ducks. Jr Brahma goaltender Tyler Myers made 49 stops, while Gary Glassman made 28 saves for Point Mallard. The Texas Jr Brahmas are leading this South Division series, 1-0. 

Northeast Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Jersey Shore Wildcats 7 vs. Syracuse Stampede 3 (Jersey Shore wins series, 2-0) - The Jersey Shore Wildcats scored seven times to defeat the Syracuse Stampede and take the Division Semi Final victory, winning the series 2-0. Tim O'Connor (2), Dylan Plesk (2), Frederick Shaljo, Alexander Rowe, and David Vaysberg netted goals for the Wildcats, and Matt Allen and Oscar Lande got not he scoreboard for the Stampede. Both Jersey Shore's Rio Virgoe and Ryan Scheide of Syracuse made 34 saves on the night. 

Central Division Semi-Final, Game 2: La Crosse Freeze 3 vs. Wisconsin Whalers 2 (Series tied 1-1) - Three unanswered goals for the La Crosse Freeze powered them to a 3-2 victory over the Wisconsin Whalers. Donny Schultz (2) and Lukas Motloch scored for the Freeze, while Carter Grobstick and Jimmy McDermott notched goals for the Whalers. In net, La Crosse's Andrew Wagner stopped 25 shots, while Max McConnell made 63 saves for Wisconsin. This Central Division series is tied at one game each.

Midwest Division Semi-Final, Game 2: St Louis Jr Blues 8 vs. Cincinnati Thunder 2 (St. Louis wins series, 2-0) - The St Louis Jr Blues grabbed an early lead to carry them to an 8-2 victory over the Cincinnati Thunder. Joe Nolan (2), Max Kamper, Tom Yurisich, Ryan Edgar, Cory Robinson, Samuel Maddox, and Nick Balestra scored for the Jr Blues, and Tyler Simon and Trevor Veneklase got on the scoreboard for the Thunder. St Louis' Hunter Smith made 14 saves, while Tyler Geloneck and Ryan Kostelnik made 12 and 20 stops, respectively, for Cincinnati. With the win, the St Louis Jr Blues close out the Midwest Division matchup, winning 2 games to none.

Northeast Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Binghamton Junior Senators 13 vs. Roc City Royals 1 (Binghamton wins series, 2-0) - The Binghamton Junior Senators had a dominant second and third period to power them to the 13-1 win over the Roc City Royals. Conor Landrigan (3), Ryan Flanagan (2), Dominik Bogdziul, Lindros Beard (3), Jeremy Wilber, Daniel Johansson, Hunter Kepple, and Austin Bandura scored for the Junior Senators, and Zach Buchholz notched the lone Royals goal. Binghamton's Steven Schmitt made 18 saves, while Nicholas Sesock and Freddy Peters made 16 and 9 saves, respectively, for Roc City. The Binghamton Junior Senators sweep the Northeast series, 2-0.

South Division Semi-Finals, Game 2: Atlanta Capitals 7 vs. Euless Jr Stars 2 (Atlanta wins series, 2-0) - The Atlanta Capitals grabbed an early lead on their way to a 7-2 victory over the Euless Jr Stars. Boomer Miller (2), Ivan Mikhailov, Talon Medure, Joseph Lajcaj, Sascha Figi, and Grant Koehler scored for the Capitals, and Dalton Caesar and Bryce Harrison each grabbed goals for the Jr Stars. Atlanta's Wyatt Monear made 19 saves, while Maxwell Kerner stopped 33 shots for Euless. The Atlanta Capitals sweep this South Division matchup, 2-0. 

East Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Toledo Cherokee 2 vs. Pittsburgh Vengeance 0 (Series tied 1-1) - A pair of goals from Tristin Snyder decided the game, giving the Toledo Cherokee a 2-0 win against the Pittsburgh Vengeance. Toledo goaltender Roman Malkov made 35 saves for the shutout, and Joel De Simone stopped 33 shots for Pittsburgh. This East Division series is tied at one game each. 

Coastal Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Long Beach Sharks 6 vs. Northeast Generals 1 (Long Beach wins series, 2-0) - The Long Beach Sharks scored early to power them to a 6-1 win over the Northeast Generals, sweeping the Coastal Division series. Oskar Lindberg (2), Gunther Stange, Alex Cerda, Carmine Taffo, and Martin Grinberg scored for the Sharks, and Alex O'Dowd notched the lone Northeast goal. Shark goaltender Kyle Van Wagner made 27 stops, while Peter Cicarelli stopped 35 shots for the Generals. 

East Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Metro Jets 3 vs. West Michigan Wolves 2 (Series tied 1-1) - A late goal from Louis Boudon pushed the Metro Jets to a 3-2 win over the West Michigan Wolves. Graham Day and Griffin Sawyer also scored for the Jets, and Nathan Sudek and Justin Bloomfield notched West Michigan goals. Metro's Jake Gwillim made 21 saves on the night, and Sam Woznicki stopped 37 shots for the Wolves. This East Division series is tied at one game a piece.

Central Division Semi-Final, Game 2: North Iowa Bulls 8 vs. Rochester Ice Hawks 0 (North Iowa wins series, 2-0) - North Iowa's Drew Scited made 14 saves for the 8-0 shutout win over the Rochester Ice Hawks. Marshall Barnes, Connor Clemons, Tyler Bump, Owen Larson, Mitch Wolter, Tom Reilly, Braxton Collins, and Horka Sekesi each scored one for the Bulls. Rochester's Drew Schenkenberg and Bailey Schmitz made 20 and 34 saves, respectively. This Central Division comes to a close with the North Iowa Bulls winning with a sweep. 

West Division Semi-Final, Game 2: New Ulm Steel 3 vs. Alexandria Blizzard 2 (Series tied, 1-1) - The New Ulm Steel defeated the Alexandria Blizzard, 3-2, tying the West Division series at one game each. Cory Martinez, Jacob Padley, and Jared Mickelson all scored for the Steel, and Caleb Anderson and Tommy Giller each notched one for the Blizzard. New Ulm's Nathan Siclovan made 49 saves, while Brey Effertz stopped 31 shots for Alexandria. 

Frontier Division Semi-Final, Game 2: Yellowstone Quake 9 vs. Bozeman Icedogs 2 (Yellowstone wins series, 2-0) - The Yellowstone Quake grabbed an early lead to defeat the Bozeman Icedogs, 9-2, and grab a spot in the Division Finals with the series sweep. Nick Pizzey, Pablo Pantoja (2), Tony Dahlberg, Curt Greenbush, Max Doner, Cole Stewart, Reed Kelly, and Carter Johnson scored for the Quake, and Carmon Teel notched both Icedgos goals. Nick Ottenbacher made 24 saves for Yellowstone, and Bozeman's Drew Pehrson and Luke Olson made 15 and 33 saves, respectively.
