For all round robin games, points shall be awarded as follows:
• 3 points for the winning team at the conclusion of regulation time.
• 1 point for both teams at the conclusion of regulation time if the game is tied.
• An additional 1 point earned for the team winning the game in a 10-minute overtime period, or the shootout if the teams are still tied following conclusion of the overtime period.
• 0 points for the team losing the game in regulation time.

In Pool A, things are very cut and dry and each team controls its own destiny.  The #1 Metro Jets take on the #4 St. Louis Jr. Blues, with both teams entering the game with 1-1-0 records. The winner is guaranteed a spot in Saturday’s Semi-Finals. In the other game, both the #5 Atlanta Capitals and #8 Granite City Lumberjacks also have 1-1-0 records, so the winner of that game will also advance to Saturday’s Semi-Finals.

In Pool B, the #3 Yellowstone Quake are the only undefeated team with a 2-0-0 record and are guaranteed a spot in the Semi-Finals.  They take on the #2 Binghamton Junior Senators (1-0-1) in the final round-robin game.  A Binghamton win of any kind would put them into the Semi-Finals. In the other game the #6 North Iowa Bulls take on the #7 Long Beach Sharks.  With two losses, Long Beach cannot advance to the Semi-Finals, however North Iowa can advance with a win in regulation and a Binghamton loss in regulation or overtime/shootout or a North Iowa win in overtime/shootout and a Binghamton loss in regulation. The tie-breaking system for two teams with the same number of points in the standings will be the head-to-head game between the two teams, the winner of the game taking precedence.

After Friday’s games are concluded, the Semi-Finals will take place on Saturday, April 1st with the winner of Pool A taking on the 2nd place team from Pool B, and the Winner of Pool B taking on the 2nd place team from Pool A.
