Cape Cod defenseman Brennan makes NCAA commitment
April 11, 2017
The Cape Cod Islanders of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Joe Brennan has committed to play NCAA Division III college hockey at Framingham State University next year.
Brennan (6’0/170), who is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has played for the Islanders for the past two years. With Brennan patrolling the blue line the Islanders have qualified for post-season play in each campaign. The rangy left handed shooting defenseman scored 2 goals and added 20 assists in 47 regular season games this season.
“I am very excited to continue playing hockey while getting a great education at Framingham,” Brennan said. “My two seasons with the Islanders have prepared me for what the next step will be. I can’t thank the organization and my teammates enough for some great experiences.”
In his first season with the Islanders he helped the team reach the NA3EHL finals.
“I can’t be happier for Joe and his family,” Islanders owner Dan Hodge said. “He had a great mentor last season in (2015-16 captain) Eric Szeker and Joe really picked up the leadership mantle this season. He’s a guy you know that will give you everything he has on a nightly basis. Coach Angers is getting a real class act for his program.”
With Brennan’s commitment the Islanders now have 4 NCAA commits this season.
