The North American 3 Hockey League’s (NA3HL) Willmar WarHawks has announced the NCAA Division III commitment of forward Danny Nugent.
Nugent, a 20-year-old from Lakewood, Ohio, has committed to Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota for the 2017-18 season. The NCAA Division III program competes within the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC). Nugent marks the third NCAA commitment from the WarHawks organization this season.
As a member of the WarHawks, Nugent played 40 games for Willmar. The forward notched 15 points through the season, including four goals, eleven assists, and a +3 performance. He was also selected to the NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, representing Team White with a goal (which was a GWG) in three games played.
“The WarHawks organization is extremely proud of Danny,” said Head Coach Chris Blaisius. “Danny came to Willmar not only for his development, but for the betterment of the team. During his time as a WarHawk, he completely changed his game, making him a more complete player. Danny is the example for all players who work hard and commit to being a complete player good things will happen and opportunities will open up.”
