Yellowstone forward Meyer makes college commitment

May 19, 2017
The Yellowstone Quake of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Max Meyer has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey for the University of Arizona.

Meyer, 19, just completed his second and final season playing in the NA3HL and his first with the Quake. The 5’10/180 lbs. native of Minnetonka, Minnesota, had a career season in 2016-17, recording 54 points in 43 games played during the regular season.

During the Quake’s run to the NA3HL Silver Cup Tournament and Frontier Division title, Meyer had 11 points in 9 playoff games.

"The University of Arizona seems like a perfect fit for my college education and hockey career," said Meyer. “It allows me to experience a big school atmosphere, while being able to play in a top class facility. Arizona also has a great business school and seems like a special place to live. I see a program with a lot of potential and I can't wait to be a part of it.”

After playing for Minnetonka High School, Meyer made his junior and NA3HL debut with the Twin City Steel during the 2015-16 season.

"Max was a great addition for us last season coming in and ready to learn the game and be apart of our success. He is a player that has great hockey sense with and without the puck and can be utilized anywhere up front. His play throughout the season brought a lot to the team not only with points but great effort and a great attitude everyday all season long. I am very excited for Max to continue his hockey career at University of Arizona and wish him the best of luck going forward,” said Quake Head Coach Ryan Theros.
