Willmar forward Walter makes NCAA commitment
June 26, 2017
The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Jack Walter has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Mary’s University.
Walter, 20, just completed his first season of playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The native of Woodbury, Minnesota, played in 33 regular season games this season and recorded 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists).
Walter (6’2/185) began the season playing for the Granite City Lumberjacks, but was traded at the deadline to the WarHawks.
"The Willmar WarHawks are very proud of Jack. Jack came to us late in the season and paid immediate dividends with a great attitude and tireless work ethic. St. Mary’s is getting a great student athlete. The WarHawks organization is very happy for Jack,” said Willmar head coach Chris Blaisuis.
Prior to playing in the NA3HL for Willmar and Granite City, Walter played high school hockey in Minnesota for East Ridge High School.
