2017 Playoffs: Did not qualify
Head Coach: Jeff Tory
2017-18 Division: Coastal

After a challenging 2016-17 season, the Maine Wild are excited for the upcoming season and becoming a better team everyday. Last season the Wild did not qualify for the playoffs and finished the season with a 16-28-3 record. During the offseason the Wild hired new Head Coach Jeff Tory.

Tory attended the University of Maine where he was a 2 time All American. After his successful college career he spent 1 season playing for the Canadian National Team, 4 years in the AHL and 12 seasons playing professionally in Europe. Over the course of his career, he was a part of 2 championship teams and captained multiple teams. Before becoming the Maine Wild coach, Jeff was the coach for the CT Nighthawks Premier team in the EHL and coach for the Portland Junior Pirates Premier team in the USPHL. Jeff has helped develop and place numerous players into college hockey and makes it a priority.

“I will be working hard with each player trying to ensure they are doing everything they need to be doing on and off the ice to prepare themselves to advance to the next level,” said Tory.

As a new coach to the league, Tory has heard nothing but great things about the NA3HL and the league-wide events.

“I have heard a lot of really good things in general about the league and it’s professionalism,” said Tory.  Tory went on to mention how much he values the league-wide events, too.

“Events like the Showcase along with the Top Prospects and the Silver Cup provide a great platform for the players to showcase themselves in front of numerous coaches and scouts. “

This season Tory has high expectations for his team and wants to create a successful culture.

“My expectations for the season are to create a culture for our players to come in and work, compete and develop themselves on and off the ice. We will be working on becoming a better team each and everyday. We will need to really play well together as a team to give ourselves the best chance at being successful.”

The Wild start their season on the road Saturday September 9th when they take on the Jersey Shore Wildcats.
