Friday Finals: Stars snap Brahmas winning streak

Texas Brahmas 3 @ Mid Cities Jr Stars 4-The Mid Cities Jr Stars scored twice in the first to set the pace for a 4-3 win over the Texas Brahmas. Conor Simpson, Brandon Speights, Tyler Schulz, and Tristan Allen scored for the Jr Stars, and Sam Sykes, Ashton Norris, and Vincent Dekumbis found the back of the night for the Brahmas. Mid Citie's Jake Ange made 29 saves, and Tyler Myers stopped 37 shots for Texas. 

 

Cape Cod Islanders 1 @ L/A Nordiques 5-A pair of first period goals from Caleb Labrie helped the L/A Nordiques to a 5-1 win over the Cape Cod Islanders. JP Chauvin, Kyle Secor, and Clifford Ogle also scored for the Islanders, and Leevi Kervinen notched one for Cape Cod. L/A's Michael Errico made 20 saves, and Esa Maki and Noah Bird made 7 and 30 saves each for the Islanders. 

 

Southern Tier Xpress 6 @ Toledo Cherokee 5 (OT)-Stuart Pearson scored early in overtime to help the Southern Tier Xpress to a 6-5 win over the Toledo Cherokee. Pearson also scored in regulation, alongside Joey Gerace, Mickenzie Restle, Nic Allen, and Brian Grant. For the Cherokee, Zachary Perry (2), Ben Farley, Spencer Sandberg, and Anthony Weinrich found the back of the net. Southern Tier's Ryan Pascarella made 33 saves, and Alan Brouillette stopped 43 shots for Toledo. 

 

Metro Jets 1 @ Lansing Wolves 2-A pair of goals from Brendan Smith helped the Lansing Wolves to a 2-1 win over the Metro Jets. Anthony Cinato scored for the Jets. Lansing's Sean Finstrom stopped 29 shots for Lansing, and Metro's Andrew Kormos made 31 saves. 

 

Northeast Generals 6 @ Long Beach Sharks 3-The Northeast Generals scored two goals in each period to defeat the Long Beach Sharks, 6-3. Marc Faia, Tyler Rydek (2), Todd Gianetis, Alex O'Dowd, and Fedor Lopaev found the back of the net for the Generals, while CJ Smith, Noah Carlock, and Charlie Bedard notched goals for the Sharks. Northeast's Nick Sesock and Lucas Souza made 15 and 29 saves, respectively, while Ryan Cortez made 61 stops for Long Beach. 

 

Oswego Stampede 1 @ Binghamton Junior Senators 3-After a quiet first period, the Binghamton Junior Senators scored first to set the pace for a 3-1 win over the Oswego Stampede. Jeremy Wilber, Ben Beversdorf, and Eric Melso scored for the Junior Senators, while Rich Hart notched one for the Stampede. Binghamton's Brady Anderson made 15 saves, while Steven Kozikoski stopped 37 shots for Oswego. 

 

New Ulm Steel 1 @ Alexandria Blizzard 2-The Alexandria Blizzard scored less than 25 seconds into the game to set the pace to defeat the New Ulm Steel, 2-1. Nicholas Lindgren and Riley Scanlon each notched one for the Blizzard, while Max Kjome found the back of the net for the Steel. Alexandria's Brady Meyers made 32 saves, while Ryan Kenny stopped 30 shots for New Ulm. 

 

Wisconsin Whalers 3 @ Wausau RiverWolves 7-A strong third period helped the Wausau RiverWolves to a 7-3 win over the Wisconsin Whalers. Michael Alfonso, Austin Bergener, Ben Brown, Owen Routheut (3), and Connor Moore scored for the RiverWolves, and Carter Grobstick, Dan Suszek, and Andrew Ether found the back of the net for the Whalers. Wausau's jackson Fazendin made 36 saves, and Alex Hufford stopped 28 shots for Wisconsin. 

 

Granite City Lumberjacks 5 @ Breezy Point North Stars 1-The Granite City Lumberjacks grabbed an early lead on their way to a 5-1 win over the Breezy Point North Stars. Brandon Baker, Braden Altena, Chris Beyer, Chase DiBari, and Seth Towers scored for the Lumberjacks, and Noah Krueger notched the lone North Star goal. In net, Granite City's Ridge Gerads stopped 16 shots, and Bronson Moore made 37 saves for Breezy Point. 

 

Rochester Ice Hawks 0 @ North Iowa Bulls 17-North Iowa Bull Colin Cain made 26 saves for a 17-0 shutout win over the Rochester Ice Hawks. For the Bulls, Connor Clemons, Josh Arnold (4), Matt Dahlseide (2), Dayton Honkanen,  Ryan Kranz, Mitch Dolter (2), Tyler Bump, Jarod Blackowiak, Alex Timm (2), and Jett Larson found the back of the net. Rochester's Tait Carlson and Drew Schenkenberg made 13 and 26 saves, respectively, for the Ice Hawks. 

 

Skylands Kings 2 @ Roc City Royals 3-The Roc City Royals grabbed an early lead to defeat the Skylands Kings, 3-2. Hunter Reid, Spencer Norris, and Brandon Corey scored for the Royals, and Eric Vanderhoff scored twice for the Kings. Roc City's Josh Martinez made 38 saves, while Mathias Yttereng made 32 saves for Skylands. 

 

Yellowstone Quake 7 @ Gillette Wild 2-The Yellowstone Quake grabbed an early lead on their way to a 7-2 win over the Gillette Wild. Iniaz Steyaert, Ian Doner, Carter Johnson, Nolan Willoughby, Riley Buller, Justin Dumont, and Timo Pelto scored for the Quake, and Brooks Mitzel and Jack Oberg found the back of the net for the Wild. Yellowstone's  Reid Waszczenko made 29 saves, while Rasmus Pilely stopped 38 shots for Gillette. 

 

Great Falls Americans 3 @ Helena Bighorns 5-The Helena Bighorns scored early to set the pace for a 5-3 win over the Great Falls Americans. Valary Dietz, Luc Cross (2), Jarett Scheibel, and Gavin Cline scored for the Bighorns, while Matt Janke, Jens Juliussen, and Weston Goodman found the back of the net for the Americans. Helena's Nick Battaglia and Great Falls' Mack Willy made 42 saves each. 

 

Bozeman Icedogs 2 @ Missoula Junior Bruins 5-After a scoreless first period, the Missoula Junior Bruins scored four goals in the second to defeat the Bozeman Icedogs, 5-2. Vadim Zubkov, Hayden Moistner, CJ Odlin (2) and Cameron Cunningham scored for the Junior Bruins, and Max Schumacher, and Tyler Balcerak notched goals for the Icedogs. Missoula's Brian Thomas and Bozeman's Troy Stevens each made 31 saves on the night.
