Stars inch closer to division lead with win

Ian Gately stayed hot to lead the New England Stars to a 5-1 win over the Maine Wild on Wednesday.

With the win, the Stars are now just two points behind the L/A Nordiques for the top spot in the Coastal Division, and the Stars have four games in hand over the Nordiques. Tyson Gudaitis scored twice for the Stars, while Ian Gatley, Hunter Norris, and Nick Johnson each notched one. Robert Dysart scored his third goal of the season to get the Wild on the board. New England's Greg Moon made 27 saves in his twelfth appearance this season, while Nick Vardon stopped 25 shots for Maine. Boxscore
