NA3HL announces Beauty Status Flow of the Month winner for February
It’s that time of year again, when hockey flow is making all the headlines. We are now a good six months into the season as we ‘scan the salad bar’ for the best hockey hair in what is known as ‘Flowbruary.’
Our partner this season for Flow of the Month is Beauty Status Hockey Co. On September 13th, Beauty Status was named as the Official Hockey Apparel Company of the NAHL for the 2017-18 season.
Players in the NAHL and NA3HL were encouraged to submit photos of their best ‘hockey hair’ or ‘flow’ via social media or email by the end of the month.
The winner for February is Metro Jets forward Griffin Sawyer.
Sawyer, 19, is in his second season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL for the Jets. The 6’0/190 lbs. native of Trenton, Michigan, is 2nd in team scoring this season with 51 points (16 goals, 35 assists) in 43 games played.
In two seasons in the league, Sawyer has recorded 93 points in 89 career NA3HL games.
We think the beauty of this salad is that Sawyer admits on his social media status that he has been growing this manly mane for two years. Two Years! That type of dedication makes this Goldilocks worthy of a Flow of the Month honor. You can pick your movie character here… Brad Pitt in Legends of the Fall? Antonio Banderas in Desperado? Chris Hemsworth in Thor? They all grew their hair for multi-million dollar paydays in Hollywood blockbusters. Meanwhile, Sawyer grew his spring mix for two years for the love of junior hockey flow. Players in the NAHL and NA3HL are encouraged to submit photos of their best ‘hockey hair’ or ‘flow’ via Twitter by the end of every month during the regular season.
To enter the contest for the month of February, submit your best #FlowoftheMonth pictures by March 31st to @NA3HL and @BeautyStatusHky. A winner from each league will be selected in early April. Winners will receive a Beauty Status hat.
