Generals defenseman Whalen makes NCAA commitment

April 3, 2018
The Northeast Generals of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman and captain Luke Whalen has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Framingham State University.

Whalen, 20, just completed his final season of junior hockey, which was all spent with the Generals in the NA3HL over the course of three seasons.

The 6’2/195 lbs. native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, had his best career season with the Generals in 2017-18. In 44 games, he recorded 25 points (3 goals, 22 assists).

Overall in his three year NA3HL career, Whalen totaled 39 points in 124 career games over three seasons.

"Luke has been a tremendous person and player for the Generals organization.  He has been a Captain the last two years and has been with the Generals in all three years of our existence.  His work ethic has allowed for his continued improvement and him being a role model for our current and future players.  We wish Luke continued success at Framingham University,” said Generals GM Bryan Erikson.
