Peoria forward Trudel signs NAHL tender
December 11, 2018
The Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Tristan Trudel has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Springfield Jr. Blues of the NAHL’s Midwest Division.
Trudel, 15, has had a great season so far for the Mustangs. The 6’4”/206 lbs. native of Dunlap, Illinois, is 2nd on the team in scoring to date with 30 points, which includes 18 goals and 12 assists.
Back in late October, Trudel was called up to the NAHL, where he made his debut with the Jr. Blues on October 26th.
Trudel, who turns 16 on December 16th, has nine points in his last five games.
His call up to the NAHL came just days after he was named the NA3HL’s Central Division Star of the Week, as Peoria nabbed three out of four possible points from a weekend doubleheader against division rival St. Louis.
Trudel is the first NA3HL player this season to sign an NAHL tender
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
