NA3HL Weekend Preview

March 1, 2019

The two NAHL junior Combines in Attleboro, MA and Rochester, MI are almost full, so sign up today at: nahl.com/fpc/events/

Just two weekends remain in the 2018-19 NA3HL regular season as just six playoff spots remain to be claimed. While the Northeast and South Divisions are set, things remain up in the air with the other four divisions.

In the Central, the Coulee Region Chill have the inside track to the division title with a five point lead and the Peoria Mustangs need just one win or a Wisconsin loss to claim the final spot.

In the Coastal Division, the L/A Nordiques have won the NA3HL’s regular season overall title, but the battle for the fourth and final spot is a good one between Maine and Long Beach with the Wild holding a two point edge.

In the Frontier Division, both the division title and final two playoff spots are up in the air as Great Falls and Helena are still battling for the top spot, while Butte and Missoula have the inside track to the final two playoff spots over Gillette.

Finally in the West, the Rochester Grizzlies are just a few points away from clinching, while the final spot will be a battle between New Ulm and Alexandria with the Steel holding a two point edge heading into this weekend.

All games broadcast live on HockeyTV.

The 2018-19 season marks the ninth for the NA3HL, which is one of two USA Hockey-certified Tier III junior leagues. This past season, no other league has had more movement and advanced more players onto play in the NAHL than the NA3HL.

The NA3HL is also the only league that has an exclusive NAHL tendering system available only to NA3HL players. This sets the stage for a proven and quantifiable NA3HL-NAHL pipeline as the NA3HL continues to make their mark in advancement of players. A total of 51 former NA3HL players played in the NAHL during the 2017-18 regular season. In addition, 24 more current NA3HL players were tendered by NAHL teams to play in the NAHL for the 2018-19 season.

The NA3HL also saw over 150+ college commitments in 2017-18. Almost 70% of those college commitments were NCAA commitments.
