NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

September 11, 2019

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending September 8, 2019. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the six divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Sean Hofstetter, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues

Hofstetter rallied the Blues in their opening matchup against Milwaukee with a hat-trick and a helper en route to a 6-3 win last week. His four points paced all skaters in the contest and earned him a share of third among NA3HL players in the early campaign. After posting 41 points in 45 outings last season, Hofstetter got off on the right foot and looks poised for another strong year in St. Louis.

2nd Star: Jaden Gardner, G, Peoria Mustangs

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Logan Drolet, F, Milwaukee Power — Zachary Eddington, D, Peoria Mustangs — Oliver Nienas, F, Milwaukee Power — Joey Solimando, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Connor Kennedy, F, L/A Nordiques

Like Hofstetter, Kennedy also kicked off his season with a three-goal performance — including the game-winner — with an assist as he factored on every Nordiques goal in a 4-2 win over Northeast. Kennedy’s four points were a team high as the third-year Nordique lit up the scoreboard in the first 40 minutes.

2nd Star: Jason St. Pierre, G, L/A Nordiques

Northeast Division Star of the Week: Thomas Liebold, F, Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles

Liebold stood out among a group of Soaring Eagles that posted strong weekends with eight points in his two games. Friday saw him star as a playmaker, notching three assists in a 7-3 win over Long Beach, before bagging a hat-trick and two more helpers on Saturday for a whopping five points. Liebold posted 69 points last season, and looks well on his way to another stout season.

2nd Star: Zac Bell, F, Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles

South Division Star of the Week: None

2nd Star: None

West Division Star of the Week: Brady Swanstrom, F, Breezy Point North Stars

An NA3HL newcomer, Swanstrom made a fantastic first impression on his new club, scoring once in regulation and potting the game-winner in a 5-4 shootout win over Willmar. Swanstrom’s go-ahead goal put the North Stars ahead in the third period, before the Warhawks roared back late to force extra time, where Swanstrom’s skill shone in the shootout.

2nd Star: Jacob Mitchell, G, Breezy Point North Stars

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): None
