Chill, Stars pick up wins on Wednesday

Coulee Region 8 @ Milwaukee 5 – Chill forward Parker Severson had a night to remember as he recorded six points, including a hat-trick, in an 8-5 road win in Milwaukee. The Chill got two goals in the 1st period from Sam VanderHoeven and Branwen Pollett, three goals in the 2nd period from Marco Escobar, Flavien Fondadouze, and Jacob Best, and then a hat-trick in the 3rd period from Severson. The Power got goals from Wesley Knutson and Nick Roberts in the 1st period, Logan Drolet in the 2nd period and another from Knutson and Ryan Hoover in the 3rd period. Chill goalie Devin Naidow made 30 saves in the win, while Power goalie Joey Greilich made 30 saves in the loss.
Maine 2 @ NE Stars 8 – Stars defenseman Derek Flynn had a three-point game and goalie Casey Johnson made 30 saves to lead the Stars to an 8-2 win over the Wild on Wednesday. The Stars jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the 1st period with goals from Connor Barter and Corey Tumenas, while Kyle Wiswell scored for Maine. The lead swelled to 5-1 in the 2nd period for the Stars with goals from Flynn, Evan Soucy, and Henry Beguelin. Wiswell would score his second of the game before the period was out to make it 5-2. The Stars tacked on three more goals in the 3rd period, including another from Barter and others from Anthony Viola and Brandon Melanson. Wild goalie Ricardo Alvarez made 32 saves in the loss.
