Friday Finals: Grizzlies among several to punch playoff ticket

Jonathon Teasdale had six points in an 8-2 win on Friday night, helping the Sheridan Hawks clinch a Fraser Cup Playoff berth.

Milwaukee Power 0 @ Rochester Grizzlies 9 – The Rochester Grizzlies won in a landslide at home against the Milwaukee Power, 9-0, and in the process clinched a Fraser Cup Playoff berth. In the 1st period the Grizzlies started early with a goal 2:48 in from Dylan Schneider followed by one from Garrett Smith.  In the 2nd the Grizzlies stayed strong with three more goals, one each from Cody Reagle, Devin Hays, and Matthew DeRosa. The Grizzlies put up four more points in the 3rd from Nic Leisen, Lucas Newman, Jesper Hofling, and Matthew DeRosa. Goalie Sean Guerin of the Grizzlies made 15 saves in the win while Ty Barnhill of the Power made 47 saves of 56 in the loss. 
 
Great Falls Americans 0 @ Bozeman Icedogs 3 – The Bozeman Icedogs won at home, 3-0. Neither team scored in the 1st period. The Icedogs had two goals in the 2nd, one from Luke Hartge followed by one from Hazen McKay.  Hartge scored again late in the 3rd with just under :30 left in the game. Goalie Conan Hayton of the Icedogs made 41 saves in the win while Viktor Wennberg of the Americans made 33 of 36 saves in the loss. 
 
Butte Cobras 2 @ Sheridan Hawks 8 – The Sheridan Hawks defeated the Butte Cobras at home, 8-2. The Cobras started off strong with the first goal of the game coming from forward Kyler Garsjo followed by four goals coming from Blake Billings, Jonathon Teasdale, Kamden Sengheiser, and Trevor Timm of the Hawks. Ty Stovin of the Cobras scored :42 into the 2nd period before Hawks forward Stepan Ruta could score. The Hawks dominated the 3rd period with one goal each from Steven Delikat, Kolten Wright, and Sengheiser again. Goalie Luke Fundator of the Hawks made 19 saves of 21 while Danny Fielding made 61 of 69 for the Cobras. 
 
Gillette Wild 4 @ Yellowstone Quake 2 – The Gillette Wild traveled to beat the Yellowstone Quake, 4-2. A quite 1st period led to the first goal of the game coming 1:49 into the 2nd from Quake Forward Will Sobaski, shortly after the first goal was Keedin Denny and Jacob Kaminski of the Wild creating a lead soon tied by Jon Green of the Quake. Declan Young of the Wild scored late in the 2nd to put to the Wild in the lead. In the 3rd period Austin Newson of the Wild scored the final goal of the night. Goalie Michael Allman of the Quake made 43 saves of 47 shots on goal while Shane Phillips of the Wild saved 29 of 31.
 
Northeast Generals 2 @ L/A Nordiques 3 – A two-goal game from L/A Nordiques forward Sam Frechette allowed the team to beat the Northeast Generals 3-2. The Nordiques started off with two goals, one from forward Bradley McMains and another from Sam Frechette. The Generals got on the board 9:23 in with a shot from Stephen Gerbis.  In the 2nd Frechette scored his second of the night just 0:15 in. Kolye Bankauskas of the Generals scored late in the 2nd period. Both teams held the other off in the 3rd making it a one goal game. Nordiques goalie Brogan MacDonald made 47 saves out of 49 while Generals goalie Raphael Gaughan saved 26 of 29. 
 
Texas Roadrunners 1 @ Mid Cities Jr. Stars 6 – The Mid Cities Jr. Stars had a great game at home defeating the Texas Roadrunners 6-1. The Jr. Stars started strong with 3 goals in the 1st from Brandon Speights, Zach Perez, and Brady Nelson. In the 2nd period the Jr. Stars kept their lead with another goal from Perez. 2:02 in the 3rd Blake Elliot of the Roadrunners scored to be followed by a goal each from Zach Russel and Payton Carter of the Jr. Stars. The Roadrunners goalies Jaeger Reed and Cole Garver both allowed three goals, Reed had 23 saves of 26 while Garver had 13 saves of 16. Noah Kinsinger of the Jr. Stars made 18 saves of 19. 
 
Skylands Kings 5 @ Danbury Colonials 3 – The Danbury Colonials fell to the Skylands Kings at home in a 5-3 loss. In the 1st period neither team scored leading to an eventful 2nd.  The Kings managed three goals from Joseph Arnold, James Clarke, and Trevor Souza before Kolby Donovan and Brandon Cope could get the Colonials on the board. In the 3rd the Kings scored twice more with James Clarke getting his second goal of the night followed by a goal from Trevor Christopher. The last goal of the game came from Colonials Forward Kevin Remson with :05 left in the game. Kings goalie Tyler Robertson made 37 saves of 40 while Colonials goalies Shane O’Brien made 7 saves of 10 and Alex Fernandes made 7 of 9. 
 
North Iowa Bulls 6 @ New Ulm Steel 1 – The North Iowa Bulls traveled to Minnesota to defeat the New Ulm Steel, 6-1. In the 1st period the Bulls had two goals, one from Lucas Wahlin, and one from Carter Eha. Keeping a strong lead in the 2nd both Harrison Stewart and Justin Daly of the Bulls scored. The 3rd period brought Wahlins second goal of the night followed by one from Nick Bowlin. The Steel scored with :13 left in the game with a shot from Nick Wieben. Bulls goalie Evan Babekuhl made 25 of 26 saves while Steel goalie Igor Samokhvalov made 38 saves of 44. 
 
Long Beach Sharks 3 @ New England Knights 10 – The New England Knights swept the Long Beach Sharks at home, 10-3. The Knights ended the first period up four with goals from Chase Lapworth, Kyle Madigan, Jake Willis, and Andrew Palmiter. The Knights added 2 goals in the 2nd , one from Cody Porcello, and another from Nolan Murphy. The Sharks got on the board in the 3rd with a shot from Matthew Barnes, only to be followed by another from Madigan of the Knights. Zachary Ostrowski and Brit Brookes of the Sharks each managed a goal before the Knights could score three more, one from Tyler Pimental, followed by a second goal of the night from Jake Willis, with the final goal coming from Leevi Kervinen. Goalie Zach Roncarati of the Knights made 13 save of 16 in the win while Sharks Goalie Richard Prazan made 45 of 55 in the loss. 
 
Granite City Lumberjacks 6 @ Wausau RiverWolves 0 – Thanks to a Hat Trick from Forward Ryan Pogue the Lumberjacks won against the RiverWolves, 6-0. Both teams held the other off in the 1st period, heading into the 2nd 0-0. The Lumberjacks scored three times in the second with two goals coming from Ryan Pogue followed by one from Jacob Schuldt. The 3rd period brought three more goals from the Lumberjacks, one from Blake Spetz, one from Kearby Larson, with the final goal of the night making a Hat Trick from Pogue. Goalie Tyler Klatt of the RiverWolves made 74 saves of 80 while Nate Johnston of the Lumberjacks made 14 of 14. 
 
Missoula Junior Bruins 2 @ Helena Bighorns 3 – The Helena Bighorns win at home thanks to a late goal from Andrew Deskin, 3-2. The bighorns started off strong with two goals in the 1st, both from Darren Donovan. The Junior Bruins tied it up in the 2nd with goals from Billy Lucas and Tyler Prince. In the 3rd Andrew Deskin of the Bighorns scored with just over two minutes left in play to win the game.  The Bighorns goalie Rylan Labrie made 34 saves of 36 while Junior Bruins goalie Larkin Dolan made 38 of 41.
