NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

January 15, 2020

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending January 12, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the six divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Dylan Schneider, F, Rochester Grizzlies

Schneider’s first two games in Rochester could not have gone much smoother, as the former NAPHL standout opened his NA3HL career with seven points in two wins over Milwaukee. After netting his first goal — the game-winner — and adding three helpers on Friday, Schneider made a sizable impact once more on Saturday with two more strikes and another assist. His 3g-4a—7pts outburst was tied for the most among all Grizzlies skaters over the weekend.

2nd Star: Devin Naidow, G, Coulee Region Chill

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Mike Deeba, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues — Sean Hofstetter, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues — Lucas Newman, F, Rochester Grizzlies — Parker Severson, F, Coulee Region Chill

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Connor Barter, F, New England Stars

Barter and the Stars managed a 3-0 week with a win over Maine and two over Skylands, with plenty of help from the Lowell, MA native. Despite being held off the scoresheet against Maine, Barter broke a four-game pointless streak with a goal and two assists in Saturday’s win over the Kings. Following that up, he notched his third hat-trick of the season on Sunday, with another two helpers to go along with it. Barter’s eight-point week pushed his totals to 21g-21a—42pts in 31 outings this season.

2nd Star: Stephen Gerbis, F, Northeast Generals

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Luke Church, F, New England Stars — Deacon More, D, Northeast Generals

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Conan Hayton, G, Bozeman Icedogs

Hayton was a rock between the pipes for Bozeman during two starts last week, posting a stunning 41-save shutout against Great Falls on Friday and turning aside 27 of 28 in a win over Missoula on Saturday. Friday’s shutout was his second of the season, and after Saturday’s follow-up heroics, Hayton has posted a .964 save percentage or better in each of his last three starts and boasts a 10-3 record with a .932 save percentage and 2.76 GAA since joining the Icedogs at the start of November.

2nd Star: Darren Donovan, F, Helena Bighorns

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Michael Allman, G, Yellowstone Quake — Jake Hayes, F, Great Falls Americans — Levi Mese, F, Great Falls Americans — Shane Phillips, G, Gillette Wild — Evan Snyder, D, Yellowstone Quake — Porter Tirrill, F, Helena Bighorns — Declan Young, F, Gillette Wild

Northeast Division Star of the Week: Tommy Hoffman, F, Skylands Kings

Hoffman was held pointless in Danbury on Friday, but responded well with back-to-back 1g, 1a efforts on Saturday and Sunday despite his team dropping both to the New England Stars. Scoring in both games meant that Hoffman has now bagged goals in four of his last five outings, and six of his last nine. Remarkably, he also boasts five games in that span with the exact same stat line — one goal, one assist. Hoffman has potted 17g-17a—34pts in 31 games this season.

2nd Star: James Clarke, F, Skylands Kings

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): None

South Division Star of the Week: Mason Evans, F, Texas RoadRunners

The RoadRunners worked hard to salvage a weekend split against Mid Cities, and thanks to Evans’ efforts on Saturday, they did just that. The Danville, CA native bagged two third-period goals — including the game-winner — to help the RoadRunners hold off the Stars for the victory. Evans’ offensive outburst marked the end of a three-game pointless drought and his first multi-goal game this season.

2nd Star: Nathan Hartline, F, Louisiana Drillers

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Aaron Dickstein, G, Louisiana Drillers — Myles Westbrook, D, Texas RoadRunners

West Division Star of the Week: Ryan Pogue, F, Granite City Lumberjacks

The Lumberjacks hit the ice three times last week, and Pogue found twine in each game to stretch his point streak to eight games. A goal and an assist on Wednesday led him right into a starring performance on Friday — a hat-trick (including the game-winner) and another assist to mark his fourth multi-point outing in six games. Another goal on Saturday meant Pogue has hit nine goals this season, with all of those coming since the Showcase in December.

2nd Star: Lucas Wahlin, F, North Iowa Bulls

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Justin Daly, F, North Iowa Bulls — Marquez Ginger, F, Willmar Warhawks — Bailey Sommers, F, Granite City Lumberjacks
