Brahmas defenseman Erdman gets call to NAHL
January 20, 2020
The Texas Brahmas of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Ian Erdman was called up to the Springfield Jr. Blues in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) this past weekend.
Erdman, 18, is in his second season of playing junior hockey in the NA3HL for the Brahmas. The 5’10/180 lbs. native of Flower Mound, Texas, has 11 points in 27 games played this season. Last season, he had 20 points in 46 games during the regular season and also played in eight playoff games helping the Brahmas to the Fraser Cup Championship.
”We are extremely proud of the work Ian has put in to earn this call up with Springfield. The growth that we have seen in his game over the past 12 months is extraordinary. Ian has completely taken advantage of the program we have in place and our facilities to take his game to the next level,” said Brahmas head coach Ryan Anderson. ”I would also like to thank Head Coach Tyler Rennette and the Springfield organization for giving Ian this opportunity. It is just another example of the NAHL Ladder of Development at work,”
The NA3HL players are always ready for a skate with the NAHL clubs and the opportunity to compete at that next level is the reward for the hard work and relentless training. Anderson has every reason to be talking up his club in his first season as Head Coach at Texas.
”Ian is now the 2nd player to be suiting up in NAHL regular season contest from our club this year. He follows Dylan Smith who earned a full season call up with the Lone Star Brahmas earlier this season. We have had 13 players skate with NAHL clubs this season and we expect that number to continue to grow,” said Anderson.
