Friday Finals: Generals roll to 7th straight win

Marquez Ginger helped the Willmar WarHawks snap a seven-game skid with a 3-1 win on Friday night.

Northeast Generals 7 @ Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles 0 - The Northeast Generals defeated the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles, 7-0. Carson Asper of the Generals scored the lone goal in the 2nd. In the 3rd period the Generals added 6 to their lead with goals from Tami Merilainen, Drew Schemmel, Asper, Deacon More, Stephen Gerbis, and Colin Day. Generals goalie Raphael Gaughan made 20 saves in the shutout while Soarings Eagles goalies Andrew Engel made 55 saves of 60 and Daniel McCarthy made 17 of 19.
 
Texas Brahmas 6 @ Atlanta Capitals 0 - The Texas Brahmas traveled to defeat the Atlanta Capitals, 6-0. In the 1st the Brahmas put up two points from Cory Scull and Findlay Wood. They added two more to their lead in the 2nd with goals from Andrue Trelstad and Tyler Blanchard. Jack Cooper and Danny Barry added another two points in the 3rd. Brahmas goalie Bryce Runyan made 16 saves for the shoutout while Capitals goalie Patrick Egdorf made 24 saves of 30.
 
Breezy Point North Stars 1 @ Willmar WarHawks 3 - The Willmar WarHawks won at home against the Breezy Point North Stars, 2-1. The only goal of the 1st came from Dylan Svoboda of the WarHawks. In the 2nd Brandon Holt scored for the WarHawks before Laauli Tosi could score for the North Stars. Svoboda scored for the WarHawks again with just under a minute left in the 3rd. WarHawks goalie Luke Weberg made 29 saves of 30 in the win while North Stars goalie Griffin Foster made 41 of 44 in the loss. 
 
Peoria Mustangs 1 @ Coulee Region Chill 4 - The Coulee Region Chill won at home against the Peoria Mustangs, 4-1. In the 1st period the only goal came from Mustangs forward Tyler Bihun. The Chill came back in the 3rd with four goals from Gijs De Schepper, Gadel Khismatullin, Jacob Best, and Marco Escobar. Goalie Devin Naidow of the Chill made 27 saves of 28 in the win while Cole Walter of the Mustangs made 16 of 20 in the loss. 
 
Granite City Lumberjacks 1 @ New Ulm Steel 3 - The Granite City Lumberjacks lost to the New UIm Steel, 2-1. Scoring started in the 2nd with a goal from Josh Baker of the Steel, followed shortly by a goal from Lumberjacks forward Carson Simon. Keegan Bauman of the Steel scored in the 2nd. The final goal of the game came in the 3rd from James Spaargaren of the Steel. Goalie Igor Samokhvalov of the Steel made 31 saves of 32 while goalie Nate Johnston of the Lumberjacks made 31 of 33.
 
Rochester Grizzlies 7 @ Wausau RiverWolves 0 - Thanks to a hat trick from Matthew DeRosa the Rochester Grizzlies defeated the Wausau RiverWolves, 7-0. The Grizzlies got on the board in the 1st with goals from Matthew DeRosa, Ethan Noonan, and Lucas Newman. The Grizzlies put up 3 more points in the 2nd with a goal from Devin Hays and two from DeRosa. Newman scored again for the Grizzlies 1:23 into the 3rd. Grizzlies goalie Sean Guerin had 27 saves in the shutout while RiverWolves goalie Tyler Klatt had 56 saves of 63. 
 
Louisiana Drillers 8 @ Mid Cities Jr. Stars 5 - The Mid Cities Jr. Stars lost at home against the Louisiana Drillers, 8-5. The Drillers got an early lead with 3 goals in the 1st from Grant Griffin, Zach Smith, and Alex Holt before the Jr. Stars could get on the board with two goals from Hunter Leonhard and Brady Nelson. The Drillers answered with a goal from Mitchell Rutledge. In the 2nd period Brandon Morgan of the Drillers scored :21 in followed by a goal from Jr. Stars forward Payton Carter. The Drillers managed three goals in the 3rd from Shamil Khadizhalov, Blake Siewertsen, and Rutledge before the Jr. Stars could put up two from Brandon Speights and Rafferty Chaney. Goalie Aaron Dickstein of the Drillers made 22 saves of 27 while Jr. Stars goalies Nahuel Veyan made 3 of 6 and Kenton Kim made 28 of 33.
 
Helena Bighorns 4 @ Gillette Wild 0 - Thanks to a shutout from Ethan Racz the Helena Bighorns won against the Gillette Wild, 4-0. In the 2nd the Bighorns got on the board with two goals from Jiri Benes and Porter Tirrill. Gavgn Galloway and Darren Donovan each had a goal in the 3rd to add to the Bighorns lead. Goalie Ethan Racz of the Bighorns made 30 saves in the shutout while goalie Brad Muzzarelli of the Wild made 35 of 37. 
 
Missoula Junior Bruins 2 @ Bozeman Icedogs 3 - The Bozeman Icedogs won against the Missoula Junior Bruins, 3-2. In the 1st the Icedogs put up two points from Hazen McKay and Caleb Brownell, answered by a goal from Tyler Prince of the Junior Bruins. The only goal in the 2nd came from Icedogs forward Luke McKay. Mi-Kwan Tallman of the Junior Bruins scored in the 3rd to make it a one-point game. Icedogs goalie Brandon Keeney made 25 saves of 27 in the win while Junior Bruins goalie Seth Daniel made 52 of 55 in the loss.
 
Great Falls Americans 2 @ Sheridan Hawks 4 - The Sheridan Hawks won at home against the Great Falls Americans, 4-2. In the 2nd period Trevor Timm of the Hawks got the first goal of the game before Tommy Janes could put the Americans on the board. The Hawks answered with three more goals in the 2nd from Jonathon Teasdale, Alex Kesler, and Mike Kocsis. Luke Richesin of the Americans scored in the 3rd. Goalie James Downie of the Hawks made 41 saves of 43 while Americans goalies VIktor Wennberg made 25 of 29 and Vincent Marroni made 19 of 19.
