Division-leading Grizzlies, Brahmas win on Thursday

Alexandria 1 @ Rochester 3 – The Rochester Grizzlies moved closer to the Central Division title with a 3-1 home win over Alexandria on Thursday night. The Grizzlies went ahead 1-0 in the 1st period with a goal from Luke McKinch, his 1st of the season. In the 2nd period the lead increased to 2-0 with the eventual game-winning goal from Cody Reagle. In the 3rd period, the Blizzard made it a one-goal game on the goal from Dallas Duckson, but the lead went back to two goals as Peyton Hart added a goal late in the 3rd period to make it a 3-1 final. Grizzlies goalie Mathias Backstrom made 29 saves in the win, while Ville Hyttinen made 32 saves in the loss.
TX Brahmas 9 @ TX RoadRunners 0 – The division-leading Brahmas erupted for nine goals in a 9-0 shutout of the RoadRunners on Thursday. Tyler Blanchard led the way offensively with two goals and an assist and Kayden Hargraves made 13 saves for his league-leading 7th shutout of the season. The Brahmas led 1-0 after the 1st period on a goal from Richard Indermill. The lead increased to 3-0 with 2nd period goals from Blanchard and Andrue Trelstad. The game was put out of reach in the 3rd period as the Brahmas scored six more times, which included another goal from Blanchard and others from Cory Scull, Parker Mara, Danny Barry, Michael Thomas Jr., and Jack Cooper. RoadRunners goalie Jaeger Reed made 36 saves in the loss.
