Sunday Wrap-Up: Winning streak continues for Mustangs

L/A Nordiques forward Sam Frechette had six points in two wins over the weekend.

Milwaukee Power 4 @ Peoria Mustangs 11 - The Peoria Mustangs won against the Milwaukee Power, 11-4. The Mustangs took the lead in the 1st with four goals from Dillan Bentley, Chase Mason, George Giese, and Ian McHenry. In the 2nd the Mustangs put up two goals from Jared Wisely and Camden Swearingen before Griffin Nickerson of the Power could score. The Mustangs added two to their lead before the end of the period with goals from Connor Bennett and Jaycob Bland. In the 3rd Bennett scored early for the Mustangs only to be answered with three goals from Brady Rossbach, Ryan Butt, and Ryan Hoover of the Power. Giese and Mason each scored again for the Mustangs to add to their lead. Goalie Jaden Gardner of the Mustangs made 16 saves of 20 in the win while Power goalies Joey Greilich made 29 of 36 and Ty Barnhill made 23 of 27 in the loss. 
 
Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles 3 @ Skylands Kings 2 (SO) - The Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles won against the Skylands Kings, 3-2. In the 2nd period the Soaring Eagles got on the board with a goal from Jared Meyer which was answered shortly by a goal from James Clarke of the Kings. Bryce Kolpien of the Soaring Eagles scored before the end of the period. Kings forward Trevor Souza scored in the 3rd to tie the game. In the shootout both Ian Skinner and Jayvon Fogelgren of the Soaring Eagles scored to win the game. Soaring Eagles goalie Nick Konkel made 33 saves of 35 while Andrew Herms on the Kings made 34 of 36.
 
Mid Cities Jr. Stars 6 @ Atlanta Capitals 5 (OT) - Thanks to an overtime goal from RJ Muckensturm the Mid Cities Jr. Stars won against the Atlanta Capitals, 6-5. Joey Allegrini of the Capitals scored the only goal of the 1st. In the 2nd period RJ Muckensturm of the Jr. Stars scored before Kobe Kitagawa of the Capitals could. Hunter Leonhard of the Jr. Stars answered with a goal only for the Capitals to come back with two from Andrei Rusakov. In the 3rd Leonhard of the Jr. Stars scored before Nikita Pecheritcyn of the Capitals. The Jr. Stars tied the game with two more goals from Muckensturm to complete a hat trick. Muckensturm scored :24 into overtime to win the game. Goalie Nahuel Veyan of the Jr. Stars made 43 saves of 48 in the win while Gunnar Snyder of the Capitals made 30 of 36 in the loss. 
 
Northeast Generals 2 @ New England Stars 3 - The New England Stars won at home against the Northeast Generals, 3-2. In the 1st Luke Church put the Stars on the board. Stephen Gerbis of the Generals scored the only goals of the 2nd. Kolye Bankauskas of the Generals scored early in the 3rd only to be answered by goals from Derek Flynn and Michael Lempiainen of the Stars. Goalie Casey Johnson of the Stars made 44 saves of 46 while Justin Simmons of the Generals made 32 of 35. 
 
New England Knights 2 @ L/A Nordiques 6 - The L/A Nordiques defeated the New England Knights, 6-2. Will Fletcher of the Nordiques scored in the 1st followed by a goal from Nolan Murphy of the Knights. In the 2nd the Nordiques took the lead with two goals from Joe Clark and Sam Frechette. The Nordiques kept their lead in the 3rd with goals from Daisuke Egusa, Jackson Vercellono, and Connor Kennedy before Devon Butler of the Knights could score. Nordiques goalie Brogan MacDonald made 21 saves of 23 in the win while Patrick Gribbin of the Knights made 52 of 58. 
 
Long Beach Sharks 1 @ Danbury Colonials 5 - The Danbury Colonials won against the Long Beach Sharks, 5-1. The Colonials took the lead in the 1st with two goals from Maverik Skeans and Misha Mshar. Steven Ferraro put the Sharks on the board in the 3rd only to be followed by goals from Kyle McEnany, Cole Madzey, and Connor Lefkof of the Colonials. Goalie Shane O’Brien of the Colonials made 19 saves of 20 while Richard Prazan made 53 of 58.
