Sunday Wrap-Up: Generals claim Coastal title

Peoria goalie Cole Walter posted his second shutout of the season with 16 saves in a 1-0 win on Sunday.

Northeast Generals 5 @ L/A Nordiques 1 - The Northeast Generals won against the L/A Nordiques, 5-1 on Sunday and in the process claimed the Coastal Division’s regular season title. The Generals got the only goal of the 1st period with a shot from Carson Asper. In the 2nd period Ben Pizzimenti of the Generals scored the lone goal. The Generals added to their lead in the 3rd with goals from Kolye Bankauskas and Ryan Reifler before Nick Pomerleau of the Nordiques could score. The final goal of the game came from Bankauskas of the Generals. Goalie Raphael Gaughan of the Generals made 26 saves of 27 while Brogan MacDonald of the Nordiques made 48 of 53. 
 
Willmar WarHawks 0 @ Peoria Mustangs 1 - Thanks to a shutout from Cole Walter the Peoria Mustangs won at home against the Willmar WarHawks, 1-0. It was the fifth straight win for the Msutangs. Jared Wisely of the Peoria Mustangs scored 2:42 into the 3rd. Mustangs goalie Cole Walter made 16 saves in the shutout while Lukas Haugen of the WarHawks made 42 of 43.
 
Skylands Kings 5 @ Long Beach Sharks 4 - The Skylands Kings traveled to beat the Long Beach Sharks, 5-4. The Kings got on the board first with a goal from James Clarke only to be answered by two goals from Matthew Barnes of the Sharks. Clarke scored again for the Kings before the end of the 1st. In the 2nd the Sharks managed two goals from Kyle O’Neill and Barnes before the Kings could tie it up with goals from Thomas Hoffman and Dylan Dinzik. The Kings took the lead in the 3rd with a goal from Sean Kenny. Kings goalie Tyler Robertson made 23 saves of 27 in the win while Sharks goalie Timothy Brillaud made 43 of 48 in the loss. 
 
Louisiana Drillers 3 @ Atlanta Capitals 0 - Thanks to a shutout from Daniel Sprague the Louisiana Drillers won against the Atlanta Capitals, 3-0. The Drillers put up two points in the 1st from Blake Siewertson and Brandon Morgan. In the 3rd the Drillers added to their lead with a goal from Ben Cope. Goalie Daniel Sprague of the Drillers made 27 saves in the shutout while Patrick Egdorf of the Capitals made 36 saves of 39. 
 
Wausau RiverWolves 1 @ Coulee Region Chill 10 - Thanks to a hat trick from Marco Escobar the Coulee Region Chill won at home against the Wausau RiverWolves, 10-1. In the 1st the Chill managed two goals from Gadel Khismatullin and Ethan McCormack before Dane Reimringer of the RiverWolves could score. In the 2nd the Chill added three to their lead with goals from Parker Severson, Marco Escobar, and Sam VanderHoeven. The Chill put up five more in the 3rd, one from VanderHoeven, and two each from Jeremiah Lebsack and Escobar. Chill goalie Devin Naidow made 20 saves of 21 in the win while RiverWolves goalies Tyler Klatt made 35 saves of 44 and Joseph La Forge made 3 of 4 in the loss. 
 
Mid Cities Jr. Stars 1 @ Texas Brahmas 9 - Thanks to a hat trick from Leevi Selanne the Texas Brahmas won at home against the Mid Cities Jr. Stars, 9-1. The Brahmas took the lead in the 1st with four goals from Leevi Selanne, Blake Rothstein, Andrue Trelstad, and Gabe Potyk. In the 2nd the Brahmas added five to their lead, one each from Potyk, Matej Palfy, and Parker Mara and two from Selanne. The only goal of the 3rd came from Hunter Leonhard of the Jr. Stars. Brahmas goalie Bryce Runyan made 17 saves of 18 while Jr. Stars goalies Noah Kinsinger made 9 of 12 and Nahuel Veyan made 38 of 44.
