NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending February 23, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the six divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Jared Wisely, Forward, Peoria Mustangs

Wisely, 18, had a big weekend to help the Mustangs extend their winning streak to five straight games. The 5’9/170 lbs. native of Chillicothe, Illinois, had three points in two wins, which included game-wining goals in both games. On Saturday, Wisely had the game-winning goal and an assist in a 4-3 win over Willmar. On Sunday, he had the game’s only goal in a 1-0 win. In 43 games played this season, Wisely has 31 points.

 

2nd Star: Noel Parker, D, Rochester Grizzlies

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Marco Escobar, F, Coulee Region Chill – Paul Hofbauer, F, Rochester Grizzlies – Cole Walters, G, Peoria Mustangs

 

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Nick Wracker, Forward, Northeast Generals

Northeast Generals forward Nick Wracker, 18, helped his team pick up three wins this past weekend and in the process, clinch the NA3HL’s Coastal Division regular season title. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Columbia, South Carolina, had seven points (4 goals, 3 assists) in the three wins, which included two goals in a 7-2 win at Skylands on Friday and two goals and two assists in a 13-4 win at Skylands on Saturday. For the season, Wracker has 38 points in 43 games played.

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Conan Hayton, Goaltender, Bozeman Icedogs

Bozeman Icedogs goalie Conan Hayton, 20, allowed just one goal in two starts this past weekend to keep the Icedogs in 1st place in the Frontier Division. The 5’10/160 lbs. native of Denver, Colorado, stopped a total of 71 of a possible 72 shots on goal. On Friday, Hayton stopped all 24 shots that came his way in a 4-0 shutout of Yellowstone. On Saturday, he stopped 47 of 48 shots in a 1-0 road loss at Great Falls. Hayton has a 17-5 record with the Ice Dogs this season, which includes a 2.31 goals against average and .943 save percentage.

Northeast Division Star of the Week: Kyle McEnany, Forward, Danbury Colonials

Danbury Colonials forward Kyle McEnany, 20, helped his team increase their current winning streak to seven straight games with another win this weekend. The 5’9/150 lbs. native of Wylie, Texas, was a one-man scoring crew in Danbury’s lone game of the weekend. McEnany had two goals, including the game-winner, and three assists in a 6-2 win at Long Beach. For the season, McEnany has 52 points in 37 games played.

 

2nd Star: JayVon Fogelgren, F, Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): James Clarke, F, Skylands Kings – Brandon Cope, F, Danbury Colonials – Jonathan Meyers, F, Skylands Kings – Ben Saurbaugh, F, Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles

 

South Division Star of the Week: Patrick Egdorf, Goaltender, Atlanta Capitals

Atlanta Capitals goalie Patrick Egdorf, 20, helped his team solidify 2nd place in the South Division with two wins in three home games this past weekend against the Louisiana Drillers. The 6’2/170 lbs. native of Houston, Texas, played in all three games and only allowed four goals on a total of 110 shots. That included 38 saves in a 6-1 win on Friday and a 32-save shutout in a 6-0 win on Saturday. For the season, Egdorf has a 9-8-3 record with a 3.19 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

 

2nd Star: Andrei Rusakov, F, Atlanta Capitals

West Division Star of the Week: Brandon Connett, Forward, Alexandria Blizzard

Alexandria Blizzard forward Brandon Connett, 20, helped his club to three wins this past weekend as the Blizzard extended their winning streak to four straight games as they closed in on securing the final playoff spot in the West Division. The 6’0/195 lbs. native of Baldwin, Wisconsin, had 13 points in three wins, which included 11 goals. That included two goals and two assists in a 10-0 win over Breezy Point on Thursday, four goals in a 14-2 win over Milwaukee on Friday, and five goals in a 13-1 win over Milwaukee on Saturday. Connett leads the Blizzard in scoring this season with 63 points in 40 games played
