NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

March 4, 2020

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending March 1, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the six divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Seamus Campbell, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues

After putting on a show at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament and earning a D1 commitment to play college hockey at Quinnipiac, Campbell returned to the Jr. Blues’ lineup in style as he put up five points in back-to-back wins over Granite City. Friday night’s 1g, 1a effort led into his first hat-trick of the season on Saturday, during which he also nabbed the game-winner. Campbell, who appeared on NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings, boasts 15g-16a—31pts in 45 NA3HL games this season.

2nd Star: Wesley Knutson, F, Milwaukee Power

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Jaycob Bland, F, Peoria Mustangs — Joey Boccardi, D, St. Louis Jr. Blues — Ryan Payne, D, Peoria Mustangs — Brady Rossbach, F, Milwaukee Power

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Ryan Reifler , F, Northeast Generals

Reifler added his name to the list of impressive Northeast performances this season, with eight points in two games last week. His hat-trick and three assists on Wednesday marked his first game with more than three points this season, and another goal and a helper on Sunday pushed his point streak to eight games. Reifler’s outburst also represented his first back-to-back multi-point games in 2019-20, as he boosted his season totals to 11g-17a—28pts in 20 contests this season.

2nd Star: Carson Asper, F, Northeast Generals

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): None

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Darren Donovan, F, Helena Bighorns

Donovan continued what has been an impressive personal campaign with seven points across a pair of games last weekend. He logged his first hat-trick of the season with a four-goal, two-assist performance on Friday, and followed up with another goal on Saturday. Donovan now has nine points in his last four games, and 29g-23a—52pts on the season.

Remson’s scoring touch was on full display in a set of three tilts last week, as he scored two goals in each contest en route to an eight-point weekend. An assist in each of Saturday and Sunday’s games marked his first and second three-point games this season, and helped inflate his season totals to 16g-12a-28pts in 37 outings.

West Division Star of the Week: Stanislav Danaev, F, New Ulm Steel

Entering the week in a four-game pointless skid, Danaev regained his scoring touch with four goals in three games against Alexandria. The Russian forward struck twice in games on Friday and Sunday — his first goals since Jan. 4 — and even notched the OT winner on Friday. Danaev has now posted 16g-26a—42pts in 43 games this season.
