Sunday Wrap-Up: Kings claim Northeast title on final day

Northeast Generals forward Kolye Bankauskas won the scoring title in the NA3HL this season with 69 goals and 69 assists for 138 points.

Skylands Kings 7 @ Maine Wild 2 - On the final day of the 2019-20 regular season, the Skylands Kings claimed the Northeast Division regular season title as they defeated the Maine Wild, 7-2. In the 1st the Kings took the lead with two goals from Thomas Mougin and James Clarke. The Kings managed three goals in the 2nd from Jonathan Meyers, Sean Kenny, and Joseph Arnold before the Wild could get on the board with two goals from Jimmy Cabral and Andrew Bertolini. In the 3rd the Kings had two goals from Clarke and Nick Ferrari. Goalie Tyler Robertson of the Kings allowed two goals while Seth Dube of the Wild allowed 7.
 
Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles 1 @ Danbury Colonials 4 - The Danbury Colonials won at home against the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles, 4-1. Kyle McEnany of the Colonials scored in the 1st. The only goal of the 2nd came from Colonials forward Dylan Webber. In the 3rd period Maverik Skeans of the Colonials scored before John Kosa could get the Soaring Eagles on the board only for Kevin Remson of the Colonials answered with a goal. Colonials goalie Shane O’Brien made 26 saves of 27 while Nick Konkel of the Soaring Eagles made 49 of 53. 
 
New Ulm Steel 4 @ Peoria Mustangs 2 - The New Ulm Steel traveled to beat the Peoria Mustangs, 4-2. In the 1st period the Steel put up three goals from Mason Enright, Keegan Bauman, and Nate Looft. The Mustangs got on the board in the 2nd with goals from Tyler Bihun and Connor Bennett. The Steel kept their lead in the 3rd with a goal from Looft. Goalie Igor Samokhvalov of the Steel made 27 saves out of 29 in the win while Cole Walter of the Mustangs made 46 of 50 in the loss. 
 
Rochester Grizzlies 6 @ Alexandria Blizzard 5 (OT) - Thanks to an overtime goal from Matthew DeRosa the Rochester Grizzlies won against the Alexandria Blizzard, 6-5. The Grizzlies put up two goals in the 1st from Matthew DeRosa and Devin Hays. Mathias Branton of the Blizzard scored in the 2nd only to be answered by a goal from Michael Heitkamp of the Grizzlies. Ryne Mohman of the Blizzard then managed a goal before Nic Leisen of the Grizzlies could score. In the 3rd period Austin McNeil of the Blizzard scored only to be followed by a goal from Joey Fodstad of the Grizzlies. The Blizzard answered with two goals from Nolan Westra and Brandon Connett to tie the game. DeRosa of the Grizzlies scored 2:49 into overtime to win the game. Grizzlies goalie Sean Guerin made 34 saves of 39 while Ville Hyttinen of the Blizzard made 27 of 33. 
 
L/A Nordiques 2 @ Northeast Generals 7 - The Northeast Generals won against the L/A Nordiques, 7-2. In the 1st period Kolye Bankauskas of the Generals scored before Jackson Vercellono of the Nordiques. The Generals took the lead in the 2nd with three goals from Preston Phelps, Tyler Kaminski, and Ryan Reifler. Michael Keller managed a goal for the Nordiques in the 3rd only for the Generals to answer with three from Samuel Rychvalsky, Stephen Gerbis, and Carson Asper. Goalie Raphael Gaughan of the Generals made 29 of 31 saves in the win while Brogan MacDonald of the Nordiques made 47 of 54 in the loss. 
 
Mid Cities Jr. Stars 3 @ Texas RoadRunners 4 - The Texas RoadRunners won against the Mid Cities Jr. Stars, 4-3. Rafferty Chaney of the Jr. Stars scored in the 1st before Garrett Wilderman and Tadeas Vicha of the RoadRunners. In the 2nd period the only goal came from Jr. Stars forward Logan High. Wilderman scored in the 3rd for the RoadRunners only to be answered by a goal from Hunter Leonhard of the Jr. Stars which was followed by a goal from Blake Elliot of the RoadRunners. Goalie Jaeger Reed of the RoadRunners made 51 saves of 54 while Nahuel Veyan of the Jr. Stars made 58 of 62.
