The Texas Brahmas of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Andrue Trelstad has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Trelstad, 21, just completed his second and final season playing in the NA3HL for the Brahmas. The 6’3/181 lbs. native of Chisago City, Minnesota, finished tied for 2nd in team scoring during the 2019-20 season with 61 points (22 goals, 39 assists) in 43 regular season games played.
“I’m excited for this opportunity at Stout. Close to home, good education, and arguably the best conference in Division 3 hockey,” said Trelstad. “I’d like to thank Coach Anderson and Coach Monsef for all the hard work and time they’ve put this season. Also, a big thanks to all the guys on the team for pushing me to be better. I wouldn’t be in this position if it weren’t for all the great people within the Brahmas organization.”
In 87 career NAHL games with the Brahmas the past two seasons, Trelstad posted 101 career points.
Brahmas Head Coach Ryan Anderson had strong praise for Trelstad. “I could not be more excited or honored for Andrue Trelstad to announce his commitment to UW-Stout. He has been a vital and productive member our organization for the past two seasons. He has worked extremely hard on and off the ice to earn this opportunity. Getting to know and help him has been one of the great honors of my coaching career. He will leave an irreplaceable hole in our organization due to not only his play on the ice, but how he conducted himself off the ice. I fully expect him to leave a positive impact on the Stout hockey program after his four years are completed,” said Anderson.
