Elmira forward Murphy makes NCAA commitment

The Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Liam Murphy has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Chatham University.
Murphy, 20, just completed his second and final season playing the NA3HL. The 6’3/210 lbs. native of Chemung, New York, finished 2nd on the team in scoring during the 2019-20 season with 46 points (21 goals, 25 assists) in 46 games played.
Murphy was selected to and played in the 2020 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Northeast Division team, where he shined in the event, scoring four goals in three games.
Murphy also played the 2018-19 season with the Binghamton Jr. Senators in the NA3HL, where he recorded 30 points in 45 games played. Overall in 91 career NA3HL games, Murphy has recorded 77 points.
“8 years ago I was told I’d never play hockey again. After a six-year absence and two years of junior hockey. I am proud to announce my commitment to Chatham University. I want to thank my family, friends and coaching staff who helped me along the way,” said Murphy on Twitter.
