April 20, 2020
The New Ulm Steel of the NA3HL is proud to announce that forward Jack Parks has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.
“Gustavus seemed to be the right place for me. Not only did my mother go there, but I wanted to go to a college with a great education, along with a top hockey program. It seemed like the right fit and I couldn’t be happier with where I ended up,” said Parks.
Parks, 21, a native of Lakeville, Minnesota, has been with the Steel since the 2017-18 season. He really shined during the 2018-19 season, racking up 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 45 games played. In total, he played in 134 games with the Steel, scored 34 goals and tallied 62 assists over the course of three seasons.
During the 2019-20 season, Parks (5’9/175) recorded 28 points in 41 games played.
“I think when I first came to New Ulm, it made me feel like I was in the right spot to begin with and I’m glad I stayed there with such great guys and a fantastic coaching staff. They taught me a lot mentally, and physically, about the game that helped me grow as a player. New Ulm was a great city and I’m going to miss it,” said Parks.
Prior to his time with the Steel, Parks spent his high school hockey days at Lakeville North High School.
