NA3HL announces Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

October 27, 2020

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending October 25, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Teddy Marion, F, Milwaukee Power

Marion and the Power cruised to a pair of wins over Wausau this weekend, thanks in large part to the Franklin, WI native’s seven points in those outings. After being held to three points in his first four games of the year, Marion exploded against the RiverWolves on Friday and Saturday, scoring twice and adding two assists in the first game, then notching three more helpers in round two. His 3g-7a—10pts now lead all Power skaters on the year.

2nd Star: Tyler Nelson, F, Milwaukee Power

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): None

East Division Star of the Week: Brandon Avezov, F, New Jersey Titans

Fresh off of being named last week’s Star of the Week in the East, Avezov kept his hot streak rolling with four points in two games last week. Avezov got things started by scoring his team’s only goal in a Wednesday matinee matchup against Long Beach, then potted a pair on Friday to go with another assist, marking his third three-point outing in four games this season. With goals in each contest, Avezov has also lit the lamp in each game this season, and his 5g-5a—10pts in four games are tops among all Titans skaters.

2nd Star: Ryan Wojciechowski, D, Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Philippe Doucette, F, New Jersey Titans — Trey Hirschfield, G, Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Jack Harris, F, Yellowstone Quake

In the midst of a dynamite start to the season, Harris posted his second consecutive three-point outing in Yellowstone’s only game this week, featuring on each Quake tally in a 6-3 loss to Bozeman. With two goals and one assist in Friday’s tilt, the Cody, WY native now leads all Yellowstone skaters with 8g-5a—13pts in just six games, and boasts points in every game played this season.

2nd Star: Jake Hayes, F, Great Falls Americans

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Trever Mellen, G, Great Falls Americans

South Division Star of the Week: Jacob Ahl, G, Oklahoma City Blazers

The Blazers went on the road to take on the most recent Fraser Cup champions over the weekend and came away with a two-win sweep over the Brahmas, buoyed by a pair of outstanding performances by Ahl between the pipes. Facing 37 shots from the dangerous Brahmas on Saturday, Ahl stopped 34 for a .919 save percentage in the contest. The Swedish backstop was unflappable on Sunday as well, stopping 34 of 35 shots to move to a perfect 4-0-0 record on the season. Ahl now boasts a stunning .964 save percentage and 1.00 GAA with two shutouts across his four starts this year.

2nd Star: Nicholas Cyprian, F, Atlanta Capitals

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Hunter Hein, G, Texas RoadRunners — Josh Hrip, F, Louisiana Drillers — Brendan Krawczyk, F, Louisiana Drillers — Noah Roitman, D, Oklahoma City Blazers — Eddie Slack, F, Atlanta Capitals — Myles Westbrook, D, Texas RoadRunners

West Division Star of the Week: Brayden Uttech, F, North Iowa Bulls

After a streaky start to his NA3HL career with five points in five games, but three pointless outings in that span, Uttech found consistency this week with points back-to-back games, extending his points streak to three games. With two goals and an assist on Friday and an assist on Saturday, Uttech has now logged 3g-3a—6pts on his current streak, and leads all North Iowa skaters with 4g-5a—9pts in 7 games this season.

2nd Star: Joey Gimberlin, F, New Ulm Steel

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Troy Dalheimer, F, Granite City Lumberjacks — Bailey Huber, G, Granite City Lumberjacks — Austin Jozwick, F, Willmar Warhawks — Cal Nauss, D, North Iowa Bulls — Brady O’Brien, D, Willmar Warhawks
