Saturday Scores: Jr. Bruins hand Americans first loss

Connor Bennett and the Peoria Mustangs rolled to a weekend sweep and now sit in 2nd place in the Central Division.

Saturday's Box Scores

Missoula Junior Bruins 4 @ Great Falls Americans 3 - Missoula came in hot with the first two goals of the game from Mi-Kwan Tallman and Liam Bland. In the second period Garret Weisenburger was able to get a goal on the records for the Americans. Then Missoula put in two more back to back goals by Kade Levins and Mi-Kwan Tallman. Great Falls was able to fight to get two more points on the board as well. These goals were from Cole Komarek and Harley Nyhuis. Missoula held onto their one goal lead for the rest of the second period and all of the third. Missoula broke the Americans undefeated record.

Wausau RiverWolves 3 @ Peoria Mustangs 7 - Peoria swept the weekend against Wausau. This leaves Peoria in second place for the Central division. Wausau had three goals from Kasey Couture, Trey Bociek, and  Caeden Phelps. Peoria had seven goals from: Rickey Jones (2), Ethan Chesney, Ibriham Arifi, Quinton Murphy, Christopher Kondiles, and Connor Bennett.

El Paso Rhinos 6 @ Oklahoma City Blazers 3 - First goal was scored by Tristin Maestas of El Paso. Samuel Miller of Oklahoma put the puck into the back of the net. Noah Henslee helped to put Oklahoma in the lead with a goal. El Paso did not like what they were seeing. El Paso brought the heat with four goals: John Mulvihill, Luke Anderson, Nate Beamish, and Cole Schneider. Michael Onda was able to secure one last point for Oklahoma. Finishing up the game is a goal from Jacob Robinson of El Paso.

St. Louis Jr. Blues 5 @ Milwaukee Power 2 - St. Louis Jr. Blues swept their weekend against the Milwaukee Power. Milwaukee put up two points from Steven Delikat and  Tyler Nelson. St. Louis had five goals from Jack Dapron (2), Matt McGowan, Vinny Servizzi, and Jared Bratton. Owen Carlson the goaltender of the Blues did a great job as he saved 34 of the 36 shots he faced.

Butte Cobras 3 @ Yellowstone Quake 4 - The Butte Cobras dominated the first half of the game but they were unable to hold onto their momentum. The first three goals of the night were all from Cobra players: Cory Kane, Nick Bradshaw, and Nikita Pinimyasov. Then coming from behind is the Quake with 4 goals to gain the lead. Two of these goals were created by Dylan Rumpke and the other two goals are from Will Sobaski and Jack Harris.

Gillette Wild 4 @ Bozeman Icedogs 5 -  Declan Young of the Wild was the first to deliver a goal. Then Luke McKay put up two back to back goals for the Icedogs. Will Blake of the Wild found his way to the back of the net just seconds later. Tristan Baker was able to bring the Wild a one goal lead. Luke McKay scored his hattrick goal and tied the game up. Landon Frost of the Icedogs secured the lead. Tae Evans increased that lead by one more point. Final goal by Declan Young for the Wild was just not enough to get them back in the game.

New Ulm Steel 1 @ North Iowa Bulls 7 - New Ulm Steel were swept at the hands of the North Iowa Bulls. The Steel were only able to sneak one goal pass Caleb Mayer, the goaltender of the Bulls. That goal was earned by David Smidt. The Bulls put up seven points tonight. Two of the goals were from Carson Jones and the rest were from Garrett Freeman, Brayden Uttech, Sota Isogai, Carter Newpower and Kyle Heffron. This uneven score must have gotten the blood boiling on both sides as the penalty box was constantly occupied during the match.

Rochester Grizzlies 5 @ Oregon Tradesmen 1 - The Rochester Grizzlies have held the 1st place ranking for the Central division for a couple of weeks now. Oregon tried to shake this but they were unable to. Luke McKinch of Oregon scored in the middle of the third period. No one else on his team was able to follow him up. The Grizzlies obtained five goals: Joey Fodstad, Peyton Hart,  Hunter Wilmes, Teejay Torgrimson, and Thomas Kayner.
