Brahmas and Bighorns post shutouts on Tuesday
Helena forward Corey Miscovich had a goal and an assist in a 6-0 win on Tuesday.
Long Beach 0 @ TX Brahmas 7 – In the opening game of the Southern Showcase, the host Brahmas got a hat-trick and assist from Jack Cooper in a 7-0 win over the visiting Sharks. The Brahmas put the game out of reach early as they erupted for four goals in the 1st period, which included two goals from Cooper and others from Mason Mara and Tyler Blanchard. In the 3rd period, the Brahmas would add three more goals to make it a 7-0 final, which included Cooper’s third goal and another from Blanchard and one from Leevi Selanne. Brahmas goalie Logan Gorbitz stopped all 18 shots that came his way for his first shutout of the season, while Sharks goalie Greyson Skirpan made 33 saves in the loss.
Helena 6 @ Yellowstone 0 – Helena forward Andrew MacCallum posted a hat-trick and goalie Anthony Adleman made 17 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Bighorns picked up a 6-0 road win in Yellowstone on Tuesday. It was all Helena from the get-go as they outshot Yellowstone 12-3 in the 1st period and got the eventual game-winning and opening goal from Johhny Baird. The lead swelled to 4-0 in the 2nd period, which included MacCallum’s first goal and others from Alex Bailey and Corey Miscovich. MacCallum would then score both goals in the 3rd period to complete the hat-trick. Quake goalie Gavin Hudspeth made 18 saves in the loss.
