Friday Finals: Hawks win 17th straight, take control of Frontier

Tyler Blanchard helped the Texas Brahmas to a 4-2 win over the East Division-leading Northeast Generals on Friday.

Sheridan Hawks 4 @ Great Falls Americans 1 - Justin Schwartzmiller of the Hawks scored the first goal ten minutes into the first period. In the second period Blake Billings of the Hawks scored seven minutes and :26 seconds in. Micah Serino of the Americans scored eight minutes and :35 seconds in. Then in the third period Zach Brydges of the Hawks scored at six minutes and :43 seconds in. The final goal is scored by Lucas Gudz of the Hawks at seventeen minutes and :49 seconds into the third.

Helena Bighorns 5 @ Butte Cobras 4 - Gavyn Galloway of the Bighorns scored the first goal of the game. Then the Cobras put three pucks into the back of the net with the help of Jonathan Schoof, Nick Bradshaw, and Kyler Garsjo. Next Andrew Deskin of the Bighorns capitalized on his scoring opportunity. Zane Cluphf of the Cobras put the puck in the back of the net. The Bighorns trying to catch up scored two more goals by Luke Theisen and Andrew Deskin. The game is tied up. Isaac Ellingson wins the game for the Bighorns with an overtime goal.

Gillette Wild 4 @ Bozeman Icedogs 3 - The Wild put up four points in the first period. These four goals were scored by Declan Young, Mitchell Vekich, and Mason Hoffman (2). Then the Icedogs fought as hard as possible to make up for lost ground.  They scored two goal in the second by Kamden Sengheiser and Tae Evans. Then in the third period Tae Evans put up his second goal of the night. The effort was not enough to get them back in the game. The Wild walk away with the win.

Long Beach Sharks 5 @ Mid Cities Jr. Stars 3 - Zan Mojzer waste no time to get the game started. He puts the first point on the board for the Sharks only 44 seconds into the game. Then in the second period Hayden Russell of the Jr. Starts found his way to the back of the net. The Sharks find their momentum and score three goals back-to-back with the help of Kyle Gilbert, Mason Mulneaux, and Jake Weikel. Tanner Daly of the Jr. Stars earns himself two back-to-back goals. Then Zan Mojzer finishes out the game with his second goal of the night for the Sharks.

Milwaukee Power 2 @ Oregon Tradesmen 3 - The Tradesmen come out of the gates firing. Brent Edmondson of the Tradesmen scored the only goal in the first period. Then Sam VanderHoeven of the Tradesmen scored the only goal in the second period. Michael Dalaly tied up the game for the Powers with two goals in the third period. Sam VanderHoeven secures the win for the Tradesmen with one final goal at the end of the last period.

Texas RoadRunners 2 @ Oklahoma City Blazers 3 - The suspense in this game was unbelievable. It was an even match up in the first period. The second period was dominated by the Blazers with one goal by Tommy Duren. Then the third period was a constant back and forth. First Brady Snedden of the Blazers put one into the back of the net. The Logan Bellar of the RoadRunners capitalized on a scoring opportunity. Next goal was scored by Patrick Wyer with the Blazers. Finally, the last goal was secured by Jaron Ketterman of the RoadRunners.

Wausau RiverWolves 2 @ Peoria Mustangs 10 - The RiverWolves were no match for the Mustangs. The Mustangs goals were scored by: Tony Campise, Thomas Kayner, George Giese, Reid Lune, Heath Drye, Quinton Murphy, Jack Craycroft (2), and Jackson Gram (2). The two RiverWolves goals were scored by Trey Bociek and David MacDonald. Peoria put two different goaltenders in net. The first was Cole Walter and he saved 8 of the 10 shots he faced. Then Joe Ambroffi saved 4 of the 4 shots that he faced.

Northeast Generals 2 @ Texas Brahmas 4 - Micah Maldonado of the Brahmas started off the game with a goal. Right behind him was Jack Cooper of the Brahmas with a goal. Nicklaus Obourn of the Generals got the first goal for his team.  Tyler Blanchard put another point on the board for the Brahmas. Jacob Kalandyk put the Brahmas on the board with another point. Then Deacon More represented the Generals with a point. There were 18 penalties between the two teams. The goaltender of the Generals, Patrick Colburn, saved 17 of the 21 shots on net. The goaltender of the Brahmas, Dolan Gilbert, saved 25 of the 27 shots on net.
