NA3HL mourns the loss of Teri Woodhull

January 14, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of RiverWolves Co-Owner Teri Woodhull, on Sunday, January 10th after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

After her cancer diagnosis, she found Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance "MOCA" and became an active volunteer and ardent financial supporter. Teri was passionate about improving patient access to clinical trials.

Her experience was featured in numerous publications including CURE Magazine and the 2017 AACR Annual Cancer Progress Report.  In September 2017 she represented patients as a featured speaker at the Washington DC Congressional Briefing on cancer research.

Teri, who was also the Board President for FORCE: Facing our Risk of Cancer Empowered, represented women with ovarian cancer on two advisory panels and was a regular blog contributor for Globe-athon (an international effort to raise awareness of gynecologic cancers).

If you would like to contribute to these organizations that were important to Teri, you can do so via these websites.

Teri and her husband Duncan were instrumental in bringing junior hockey to Wausau in 2017 as they introduced the RiverWolves to the NA3HL.

"Teri was an amazing person to work with in establishing the RiverWolves in Central Wisconsin. She brought out the best in everyone she came in contact with and was always focused on doing good by everyone. I look forward to continuing to build the RiverWolves with the attention to detail and passion she brought daily,” stated Director of Business Operations Zach Serwe.

"We mourn the loss of Teri Woodhull. Teri has had a tremendous impact on the lives of many and she will be dearly missed. I'd like to thank Teri, as well as Duncan for everything they have done for the players and myself for bringing the great game of hockey to Wausau on the junior level,” stated Head Coach Colin Bailey.
