Friday Finals: Rhinos take down Brahmas in home debut

Granite City forward Carson Simon had four goals in a 5-3 win on Friday night.

Texas Brahmas 3 @ El Paso Rhinos 4 – The Rhinos won their NA3HL home debut. Jacob Robinson started off the game with a goal for the Rhinos. Leevi Selanne then scored for the Brahmas. John Mulvihill scores for the Rhinos and puts them in the lead. Padraig McEnery scores for the Brahmas and ties up the game. Easton Easterson of the Rhinos scores a goal and gains the lead again for his team. Jack Cooper of the Brahmas scores and ties the game back up. Colton Chipman scores the final goal of the game for the Rhinos. Rustam Kulizade, the goaltender of the Rhinos, saved 16 of the 19 shots he faced. Logan Gorbitz, the goaltender for the Brahmas, saved 15 of the 19 shots he faced.

Granite City Lumberjacks 5 @ New Ulm Steel 3 - The Steel controlled the first period with a goal from Corey Stormer. Then the Lumberjacks dominated the second period with three goals. Two of these goals were earned by Carson Simon and one was earned by Tucker Skime. Then the third period was an even battle. The Steel had two goals by James Spaargaren and Joey Gimberlin. The Lumberjacks had two goals both by Carson Simon, who ended up with four of the five Granite City goals. The Lumberjacks’ goaltender Bailey Huber saved 24 of the 27 shots he faced. Then the New Ulm’s goaltender saved 30 of the 34 shots he faced.

Oklahoma City Blazers 1 @ Atlanta Capitals 3 - The action did not start until the second period. Dylan Slater scored a goal for the Capitals. Then Patrick Wyers puts the Blazers on the scoreboard. The Capitals tap in two more goals with the help of Nicholas Cyprian and Eddie Slack. Greg Smith, the goaltender of the Capitals, saved 48 of the 49 shots he faced. Oliver Charbonneau, the goaltender of the Blazers, saved 21 of the 24 shots he faced.

Louisiana Drillers 4 @ Texas RoadRunners 3 - The RoadRunners have the first two goals of the game. These goals were scored by Seth Payspn and Nick Lucas. Then the Drillers put in three goals by Mark Kurliandchyk, Griffin Green, and Josh Hrip. Garrett Wilderman of the RoadRunners ties up the game with a goal. Thomas Mougin of the Drillers scores the game winning goal. Kyle Karoleski, the goaltender of the Drillers, saved 42 of the 45 shots he faced. Jaxon Taylor, the goaltender of the RoadRunners, saved 36 of the 40 shots he faced.

Oregon Tradesmen 1 @ Peoria Mustangs 3 - There was no scoring in the first period. In the second period the Mustangs scored two goals. These goals were earned by Jaycob Bland and Heath Drye. Then in the third period each team scored one goal. The Tradesmens goal was by Devin Hays and the Mustangs goal was by Luca Goulding. Cole Walter, the Mustangs goaltender, saved 22 of the 23 shots he faced. Hunter Adams, the Tradesmen goaltender, saved 33 of the 36 shots he faced.

Alexandria Blizzard 2 @ Wilmar WarHawks 5 - The WarHawks started off the game very strong with three goals. These three goals were earned by Cole Wigestrand, Ben Johnson, and Dylan Gajewski. Then Caleb Strong puts the BLizzards on the scoreboard with a goal. The War Hawks put up two more goals, earned by Alex Kupa and Jeremiah Konkel. Caleb Strong scores his second goal of the game for the Blizzard. Lukas Haugens, the goaltender of the WarHawks, saved 29 of the 31 shots he faced. The Blizzards played two goaltenders tonight. Bailey Rosch saved 27 of the 32 shots he faced and joey Grelilch did not let a single puck slip past him in 19 shots.

St. Louis Jr. Blues 4 @ Rochester Grizzlies 3 - Logan Kroyman started off the action with a goal for Logan Kroyman. Then the Jr. Blues put in three goals. These goals were earned by Mike Ivory, Joey Boccardi, and Riley Howse. The Grizzlies put in two goals by Justin Wright and Cole Gibson. Owen Carlson, the goaltender of the Jr. Blues, saved 44 of the 47 shots on net. Zach Wiese, the goaltender of the Grizzlies, saved 25 of the 28 shots on net.

Wausau RiverWolves 5 @ Milwaukee Power 1 - The solo goal in the first period was scored by Nolan Gifford of the Power. Then the solo goal in the second period was scored by Brady Rossbach of the RiverWolves. The RiverWolves dominated the third period with four goals. These goals were scored by Ben Cremers, Issac Wickersheim, Kasey Couture, and Pavel Bakhtin. Caleb Sauer, the goaltender of the RiverWolves, saved 40 of the 41 shots on net. Ewan Mcdevitt, the goaltender of the Power, saved 32 of the 37 shots on net.

Great Falls Americans 2 @ Sheridan Hawks 9 - The Hawks showed no mercy in this game. The Hawks scored five goals with the help of: Derek Humphrey, Nick Tigges, Jacob Cummings (2), and Justin Schwartzmiller. Then the Americans put in two goals with the help of Hunter Maschke and Bryson Fletcher. Then The Hawks put in four more goals, earned by: Simon Herz, Luke Desmarais, Nathan Gilleshammer, and Derek Humphrey. The Hawks’ goaltender James Downie saved 27 of the 29 shots on net. The Americans played two goalies. Trever Mellen saved 1 of the 3 shots on net. Hunter Burian saved 78 of the 85 shots on net.

Bozeman Icedogs 3 @ Gillette Wild 4 - The Icedogs scored three goals with the help of Colin Cobb, Dylan Fontaine, and Luke McKay. Then the Wild scored three goals with the help of Carson Kuche (2) and Will Blake. Cole Wheaton, the goaltender of the Wild, saved 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Evan Wittchow, the goaltender of the Icedogs, saved 58 of the 61 shots he faced.
