Saturday Scores: WarHawks dominate weekend in West

Cole Wheaton stopped 64 of 68 shots in two wins this weekend to help the Gillette Wild sweep their series against Bozeman.

Granite City Lumberjacks 1 @ Willmar WarHawks 6 - The WarHawks had three goals in the first period. These goals were earned by Ethan Mock, Michael Sweetland, and Ben Luedtke. Ben Anderson of the Lumberjacks had the only goal in the second period. The WarHawks put up three more points with the help of Michael Sweetland, Alex Kupka, and Michael Sweetland. Will Pinney, who made his WarHawks debut, saved 34 of the 35 shots he faced. Brandon Shantz, the goaltender of the Lumberjacks, saved 34 of the 40 shots on net.

Bozeman Icedogs 1 @ Gillette Wild 2 - Tae Evans scored the first goal of the game for the IceDogs. Then Declan Young of the Wild scores a goal. The last goal of the game was earned by Brock Trboyevich of the Wild. Cole Wheaton, the goaltender of the Wild, saved 29 of the 30 shots he faced. Brandon Keeney, the goaltender of the IceDogs, saved 46 of the 48 shots he faced.

Great Falls Americans 2 @ Sheridan Hawks 9 - The Hawks scored six straight goals to start the game that were created by: Jacob Cummings, Blake Billings, Taylor Frerichs, Logan Syrup, Derek Humphrey, and Dakota Kott. Then Henry Chavez of the Americans scored a goal.  The Hawks rack up three more points with the help of Justin Schwartzmiller and Nathan Gilleshammer (2). Henry Chavez scores his second goal of the game for the Americans. The goaltender of the Hawks, James Downie, saved 33 of the 35 shots he faced. The Americans used two goaltenders. Then both Gavin Wendorf and Kyle Heffron of the Bulls earn points of their own. Caleb Strong of the Blizzard ties up the game with a goal. Colin Tushie of the Blizzard has the game winning goal. Ethan Cumming of the RiverWolves capitalizes on a scoring opportunity. Garret Alton adds his name to the scoresheet for the Power. Teddy Marion finishes off the game with a goal for the Power. Texas Brahmas 2 @ El Paso Rhinos 3 - The action started off in the second period with a goal from Gino Sessa for the Rhinos. Then Jack Copper scored a goal to put the Brahmas on the scoreboard. Rj Muckensturm of the Brahmas scores a goal. Colton Chipman of the Rhinos ties up the game. Rhinos won with a shootout goal. There were 21 penalties collectively between the two teams. Missoula Junior Bruins 2 @ Helena Bighorns 5 - The Bighorns put in four goals with the help of Isaac Ellingson (2), Alex Bailey, and Andrew Deskin. Gabe Gifford scored a goal for the Junior Bruins.
