Peoria forward Lune signs NAHL tender

February 23, 2021

The Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward and leading scorer Reid Lune has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Jamestown Rebels of the NAHL’s East Division.

Lune, 18, is in his first full season of playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The 6’3/195 lbs. native of Edwards, IL, currently leads the Mustangs in scoring so far during the 2020-21 season with 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 30 games played.

Lune was named the NA3HL’s Central Division 2nd Star of the Week back on October 20, 2020.

Last season, Lune made his junior hockey debut in the NAHL with the Rebels, appearing in two games on January 4-5, 2020.

Prior to that, he spent two seasons of playing youth hockey at the 16U and 15U level with the Chicago Fury.

He is the second Mustangs player who has signed an NAHL tender so far this season, joining teammate Charlie Killian, who signed with the Springfield Jr. Blues.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which includes one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
