Titans and Lumberjacks win on Wednesday
Northeast 2 @ Titans 4 – Thanks to a natural hat-trick from forward Philippe Doucette, the Titans came from behind to defeat the division-leading Generals on Wednesday, 4-2. The Generals jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to a 1st period goal from Gijs De Schepper and a 2nd period goal from Nolan Merulli. Doucette then scored three straight goals to give the Titans a 3-2 lead. Brett Bell would add a late 3rd period goal to complete the scoring. Grant Goodson made 29 saves in the win, while Espen Reager made 25 saves in the loss.
Willmar 1 @ Granite City 3 – Lumberjacks goalie Josh Weyandt made 28 saves to lead the Lumberjacks to a 3-1 home win over the visiting WarHawks. The win moved Granite City back into sole possession of 2nd place in the West Division. Granite City jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a 1st period goal from Kullan Daikawa and a 2nd period goal from Braeden Bartoo. The WarHawks got on the board late in the 3rd period with a tally from Gavin Uckele, but an empty-net goal from Daikawa, which was his second of the game, secured the win. WarHawks goalie Lukas Haugen made 21 saves in the loss.
