Rochester and Peoria post shutout wins on Thursday
Wausau 0 @ Rochester 12 - Rochester came within one goal of tying for its most in a game, beating the visiting Wausau RiverWolves 12-0 from the Rochester Recreation Center. Dylan Schneider started off the scoring 6:26 in the first period with his 17th of the season. Collin Pederson and Garrett Smith picked up the assists on the goal. Less than a minute later, Peyton Hart broke in on a partial breakaway and beat RiverWolves goalie Caleb Sauer through the five-hole. Micah Gernander and Cody Reagle rounded out the scoring in the first period for the Grizzlies. Rochester tallied seven goals in the third period with six of them coming from different players. Matt DeRosa, Tommy Gordon, Joey Malugani, Justin Wright, Gernander, Cole Gibson and Tyler Huffer all found the back of the net for the Grizzlies. Schneider tallied his second of the game in the third period, giving Rochester its 12th goal of the evening. Shane Soderwall stopped all 18 Wausau shots in the win.
Peoria 3 @ Oregon 0 – Mustangs goalie Cole Walter stopped all 32 shots that came his way for his 5th shutout of the season as Peoria blanked Oregon on Thursday, 3-0. All the scoring for the Mustangs came in the 2nd period as Peoria scored three goals in a 15-minute span. Reid Lune got the scoring started just :15 seconds into the period with his 11th goal of the season. Heath Drye scored midway through the period with his 9th goal of the season to make it 2-0. Tony Campise would cap the scoring later in the period to make it a 3-0 final. Oregon goalie Hunter Adams made 34 saves in the loss.
