Milwaukee forward Alton makes NCAA commitment
The Milwaukee Power of the NA3HL are proud to announce that Garrett Alton has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Finlandia University.
Alton, 21, joined the Power via trade in the 2018-19 season and is the longest serving captain for Milwaukee having donned the “C” the past two seasons.
“We are extremely proud of Garrett and what he has been able to accomplish during his time with the Power,” said Head Coach Nate Eminger. “He has been a vital part to helping us build Junior hockey in Milwaukee through his leadership both on and off the ice.”
During the 2020-21 season, Alton recorded 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists) in 37 games played. His best career season came in 2019-20 when he posted 37 points in 39 games played and was also selected to and played in the 2020 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team
The 6'0/185 lbs. native of Racine, WI, finishes his Power career 3rd overall in: games played (83), goals (26), assists (37), and points (63). He was the teams MVP for the 2019-20 season and voted by his teammates for the Power’s Leadership Award for the 2020-21 season.
In four NA3HL seasons with Milwaukee, Wausau, and New Ulm, Alton appeared in 162 career games and recorded 94 points.
“I am excited for the opportunity to continue my career playing NCAA hockey,” said Alton. “I would like to thank everyone that has helped to get me this far from my teammates, the staff, and especially my family.”
