Willmar defenseman Bjorge makes NCAA commitment
The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Hunter Bjorge has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Concordia College in Minnesota.
Bjorge, 20, just completed his second and final season of junior hockey, which has been spent between the NAHL and the NA3HL.
The 5’10/185 lbs. native of Grand Forks, ND, played in 22 games for the WarHawks during the 2020-21 season, recording 20 points (2 goals, 18 assists).
Bjorge began the 2020-21 season in the NAHL playing for the Minot Minotauros and the St. Cloud Norsemen.
“Hunter joined our team in January this past season and made an immediate impact. Having spent over a year in the NAHL, his experience and level of play was crucial to our team’s success down the home stretch. His game has huge offensive upside to go along with strong defensive play. Concordia is getting a great kid both on and off the ice. We wish him nothing but the best going forward,” said Willmar Head Coach Kirk Olimb.
After playing his youth hockey for Grand Forks Central High, Bjorge joined the Minot Minotauros for the entirety of the 2019-20 season, appearing in 43 games and recording 17 points.
“We are excited to have Hunter joining our program. Outstanding player and great competitor,” said Concordia Head Coach Chris Howe.
