Sheridan defenseman Kott signs NAHL tender

July 9, 2021

The Sheridan Hawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Dakota Kott has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Jamestown Rebels of the NAHL’s East Division.

Kott, 19, just completed his first season of junior hockey in the NA3HL during the 2020-21 season. The 5’7/134 lbs. native of Hartland, MI, posted a very good rookie season this past year, recording 30 points (7 goals, 23 assists) in 35 regular season games played.

Kott also chipped in four points in eight playoff games in the Hawks run to the Fraser Cup Tournament.

Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Kott played high school hockey in Michigan for Hartland High and youth hockey with the Little Caesars program.

He is the second Hawks player to signed an NAHL tender for the 2021-22 season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which includes one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
