Northeast defenseman Dent makes college commitment

August 2, 2021

The Northeast Generals of the NA3HL are proud to announce that defenseman Dylan Dent has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey for Grand Canyon University.

Dent, 21, joined the Generals in a mid-season trade with the Oregon Tradesmen and helped lead the team to their first ever Fraser Cup appearance.

The 5’11/180 lbs. native of Rockford, IL, recorded four points in seven regular season games with the Generals during the 2020-21 season. Prior to being traded to Northeast, Dent had 12 points in 23 games played with the Tradesmen.

In six playoff games during the 2021 Fraser Cup Playoffs, Dent had six points in six games.

“Dylan is a great young man and very talented hockey player.  We needed a boost for our D corps and he came in and instantly provided that.  He came to the rink everyday with a smile on his face and worked so hard at everything he did. Really happy and proud of Dylan.  He is going to be a huge asset for not only the Grand Canyon University hockey program but the school itself,” said Head Coach Darryl Locke.

Dent played the 2019-20 season in the NA3HL for both the St. Louis Jr. Blues and Coulee Region Chill, recording 26 points in 51 games.
