Alexandria forward Westra makes NCAA commitment
The Alexandria Blizzard of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Nolan Westra has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Concordia College in Minnesota.
Westra, 21, just completed his second and final season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The 6’0/185 lbs. native of Moorhead, MN, recorded eight points in 31 regular season games during the 2020-21 season.
“I’m proud to announce my commitment to further my academic and hockey career at Concordia College Moorhead! Thank you to everyone who has helped me. Family, friends, coaches and teammates, I wouldn’t be where I am today without all your help and support along the journey,” said Westra on Twitter.
In his rookie season in 2019-20, Westra put up an impressive 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 31 regular season games.
Prior to playing junior hockey in the NA3HL, Westra spent four years playing high school hockey in Minnesota for the Moorhead Spuds.
