Power head coach Eminger takes NCAA positiion

August 17, 2021

The Milwaukee Power of the NA3HL are proud to announce that Head Coach Nate Eminger has been named an Assistant Coach with Concordia University, an NCAA Division III program.

Eminger is no stranger to the Concordia program having played for the Falcons from 2016 to 2019.

“We’re excited to welcome Nate back,” said Rob Barnhill, Concordia University’s Director of Athletics. “He’s coming home having grown as a coach and a professional and it’s great to have him back in the Concordia University family.”

Eminger’s time with Milwaukee has been far from what was expected. He started on the staff as the Assistant Coach for the 2019-20 season and was then promoted to the Head Coach over the course of the season.

His first full season as the Head Coach, 2020-21, was far from normal having to navigate the Covid-19 world while putting together and coaching a roster to compete for a playoff spot coming down to the final weeks of the season. After all of those events he has the most games coached in the Power’s history, 87, and has helped eight players go on to play college hockey and three receive NAHL opportunities.

“Nate is an extremely dedicated, hardworking, respectful, student of the game of hockey who understands today’s players,” said Chase Ernst, CEO/President of Local Hockey Partners. “Nate goes to work for them every single practice, video session and game, making them into better players and people, ultimately helping them achieve their dreams of playing at the next level. Nate deserves this opportunity because he has earned it. I could not be prouder of what Nate has accomplished inside our Power organization. He will always be part of our Power family. I wish Nate and Concordia best of luck in the coming season.”

“I am extremely grateful for my time with the Power and for their trust in me to help lead this organization,” said Eminger. “My time in Milwaukee allowed me to truly develop as a coach and prepared me for the next level. I want to thank Chase for his belief in me from the beginning of my time here and for giving me the opportunity to help build and lead this team.”
